Chapter 74: Investigating the Incident

Officer Babak was trying to fathom the gravity of the precarious situation he was in. He felt the school was even more deeply involved in this incident. He felt an urgent need to look at the video footage from today.

Kennet and he walked to Eliza, Cacey’s mom. Babak was thinking deeply. He stood in front of the police car, inside of which she was waiting for him. A female officer was looking after her.

“Did you take her statement?” Babak asked the female officer, Eva Mendez.

“No, I’ve been waiting for you, Mr. Babak. She is in shock. She says, Her daughter is missing.” Eva stood facing Babak, a bit away from Eliza. They did not want to let Eliza hear their discussions.

“Parents will always be like that. But we have a procedure to follow. Even if her daughter is missing, we need to wait at least 24 to 48 hours.” Babak mentioned the general rule. “However, what if this is not a missing person case but an abduction?"
