The sudden shroud of the mysterious fog, although it was a rather sunny day, created a penumbra on the trail of Walibomboi. Cacey feared the unknown that lurked within the darkness of the misty mountain forest. The rustling sound, those suppressed steps that quickly inched closer, the ghoulish howls that reminded her of bloodthirsty beasts of prey, the monotonous sound of the water falling into the gorge—everything created a dark supernatural ambiance.

At that moment of epiphany that she was in danger, Cacey felt anything was possible—vampires, werewolves—everything that made her scared like a newborn infant came rushing to her mind. Her hands instinctively held the air horn and the trekking pole at the ready, although she knew these wouldn’t matter if one of those came out of that woodland.
