Chapter 37: We raised a ruler, not a subject

Seated in the dining room, Dahlia and Edgar exchanged silent glances at each other and then looked at the empty seat that belonged to the auriana.

She had refused to see them and also refused them permission to enter her room to talk to her. Dinner was the only way t9 see her and have a conversation because even the mind link was as good as nonexistent.

Although the dishes were already served, neither of them touched a single thing while waiting, but somehow, they were also doubtful that she would come down to dine with them. She could ask her maid to bring her food to her room, and that would be it.
