Chapter 26: Galand the Humble part 2

A skeleton of large mass towered over the Paladin. It stood in front of its new master and the other mages.

With its master's will, it struck down its massive white hand. Galand maintained his spot, he brought up his shield and stopped the attack with relative ease, he shoved it away and immediately ran at the giant.

The giant skeleton followed with a kick at the man but he swiftly rolled to the side avoiding the blow, the paladin struck down his sword on the ankle of the giant, he couldn't cut through it but he made quite a deep cut, the blade got stuck inside the crease and the giant swung its other feet at him.

He left the sword and leaped out of the way, up above to the face of the undead giant, yellow embers of light grew on his shield and he dove the attack into the undead's skull cleaving away a large portion of its face and sending it falling.

As it fell, the paladin struck another golden blow with its fist shattering its skull, the floor did the rest and scattered it to pieces.

[Giant Skeleton lvl ???]

Lexar identified before the massive undead turned to dust and disappeared. Undead puppets like that take on not the level they had before they perished but rather that of their master so the stronger the necromancer, the stronger they are as well.

The crowd cheered on upon his win, the Champion of Reya's Coliseum performed just as expected.

The vampire necromancer instinctively moved back, his face twitched and so did his body, he looked at the others who were waiting, looking for the perfect chance to strike.

The human Murk Mage amongst them, also the oldest looking amongst them stretched forward his old fingers and pointed at Galand.

The little shadow beneath him enlarged in size and zoomed towards Galand.

Galand on the other hand was walking to the spot where his sword laid and just before he could pick it up, he realized that he couldn't move.

He looked down and saw that black flat threads weaved around his legs and swiftly grew upwards ensnaring him.

The shadow threads had entwined his torso although his hands were free. One of the trolls seeing the opportunity ran at Galand.

Before it could reach however, a fling with his shield turned it lifeless separating away its upper body.

The darkflame mage threw multiple balls of darkflame at the champion however he swiftly ducked escaping them and tore away the shadow that crept on him.

He gave a cold stare at the Murk Mage sending a shiver through the mage's spine.

WHOOSH

Galand tore through the air in his drift and on his armour-clad hand was the head of the Murk Mage.

The Darkflame mage looked at the crowds, his groin cloth soaked in sweat, his heartbeat beating at a ridiculously high rate, he couldn't take it anymore, he contemplated whether to escape, however he knew he risked activating the curse that bound them to the arena.

Knowing he stood no chance, he materialized propelling jets of dark purple flames and tried jetting away.

"None shall leave!" A dark voice escaped from within the champion's helmet.

He hopped and appeared just behind the flying darkflame mage and equipped his mace. He sent down his mace through the head of the mage immediately granting him death.

The mage's lifeless body crashed on the ground, his head was nothing but a mash of red.

"YAHH!" The remaining two trolls cried in unison as they stormed forward.

Galand spun the mace across his hands, the first troll to reach him threw forward its hand to his neck, he raised his metallic mace and intercepted the strike crushing the fingers of the troll and suddenly grabbed the troll's neck and with a turn of his wrist, its neck snapped and life disappeared from it.

The second came just before him with its club raised high in all of its might.

Galand bent to tear through its belly with his mace when a heavy blow landed on his back and sent him flying.

He flung and crashed on a guard staying at the arena's edge. He let out no sound of pain despite the heavy blow he had received, the guard beneath him tried getting him away but in response, Galand dug his hands into the guard's helmet bending it in and turning his head into a pulp. The crowd weren't put off by this, in fact they cheered louder, they craved for chaos like this.

What stood before him and what had delivered the strike was a stone golem, it stood tall and massive and was of rocks of brown from the rock beneath the concreted floor.

Its arms were large, larger and longer than its legs and they rested on the ground like it was a gorilla. Its face was molded into that of a troll since its maker was a troll as well. It created a massive jutting blade that hung on its left hand.

Green energy poured into the form and was channeled by the necromancer from the body of his dead partners.

The necromancer fed the construction grace that was on the verge of disappearing, he fed himself, the golem and the warrior troll, momentarily boosting their stats.

His weapons were away from him and on the ground, there was no way his enemies would give him the chance to equip them.

His mysterious face gazed on all three of his foes, each with newfound courage and resolve.

However, it wasn't the first time the Coliseum champion had been backed into a corner.

Lexar watched the battle attentively, the sudden change in the battle tide kept everyone at the edge of their seats, Galand usually ended up his opponents with a swift strike like he had done in the match and almost all the time avoided getting hit.

Would this trio of desperate creatures be the end of his winning streak?
