Chapter 21: RITUAL 5

Stepping into the ballroom which has been set up for what seemed to be a grand event. Everyone's eyes were already on me the moment I stepped in, and I tried to focus on my steps so as not to fall. I should be used to attending events like this already but hell, even I knew that was not possible.

Their eyes judged me. The women glared jealously at me while the men just stared at me in silence. I could already imagine what was going on in their head.

'The wife of Dalton Bancroft? She's not worthy...

'Just look at how she walks...

'She's not on their level."

'Who is she?'

The ladies in groups paused their conversation just to stare at me. But my bizarre eyes didn't mind them, they rather scampered around the lit room as they searched for someone.
