Chapter 156: One Grave Mistake

Inside the meeting hall.

Around thirty or so villagers gathered in the spacious room, their voices filled with distress as they recounted a string of recent misfortunes that had befallen them lately. Each was more bizarre than the last, ranging from mild discomfort to severe disasters. 

In the early hours of the morning, Su Hai had tragically taken her life for unknown reasons and less than five hours later, another villager drowned to death while fishing, and when he was found, his entire body had turned blue and swelled up grotesquely! Not only that, they also noticed strange bruises appearing on their bodies, emitting a putrid odor akin to decaying flesh, prompting them to hold this emergency meeting. 

"Could it be food poisoning?!"

"Are you a fool? If it were, everyone would be affected and not just a few!"

"This is clearly a plague, I tell you!"
