He had harbored some suspicions in his heart since he heard Ma Yuhan and Ma Lingxin mention her name with absolute trust as though she was a figure they respected and followed. However, he held himself back from probing further as Chen Ru had never encountered her before. There must be a reason why she chose to reveal herself just in front of his eyes. 

"What are you?" Song Zhuyu continued to ask, his tone curious and wary in equal measure. "And why have you deemed me trustworthy?" 

Was she a spirit, or perhaps… the so-called 'God' worshiped in the shrine? Song Zhuyu couldn't tell for certain. But he surely did not expect that after showing herself, she would turn and bolt away without warning!
