Chapter 22: Rain of points

"What are you doing here? Who asked you to come inside?" Meher said, as she walked in front of Kevin. With every step she brought a cold pressure in the room that seemed to drop the temperature a little.

She saw the whole scenario playing out in front of her, and was feeling extremely annoyed at this instant.

She could already imagine the nuisance that politician would pull later on, and with all the media that's barely over the news of her failure, would have another thing to talk about.

Her face looked extremely cold with a skin so white like a layer of frost had formed over it.

'Guess she's the cold president trope heroine.' Ali thought as even he felt enamored for a second seeing her up close.

But then again his aesthetics were pretty high normally due to his upbringing and having Aarvi and Liv around, so he got back to his senses fast enough.

Unlike our dear protagonist, who instead of answering this fuming cold beauty, just kept staring at her with an open mouth and dry throat.

'She looks even more pretty when she's angry.' Kevin said in his heart, as he thought she was worried about him and angry at that fat idiot.

"What're you doing, answer me? Who told you to come inside? Don't you even have such little sense. And if you don't, then didn't you see all those bodyguards of other people standing outside."

"I_ I was just worried Al_ about you. So…" Kevin wanted to say he was worried Ali would fill her ears with lies, but changed his words midway.

"Worried about me, is that why you started a fight first, instead of focusing on me." Meher sneered and pointed at his clothes. "And just look at yourself, don't you at least know how to wash up or not."

Hearing the insults and seeing the disgust on her face, Kevin snapped out of his daze and frowned. Yes, he did like Meher, but not enough to hear her rant so shamelessly.

"Meher, the lift wasn't working so I had to take the stairs. That's why I was late." Kevin tried to hightlight the fact that he climbed 37 floors though a hard run for her. But to his bad luck a security guard nearby suddenly spoke up.

"But I saw you come out of the lift."

Hearing this the tiny bit of goodwill that generated in Meher's heart instantly turned to cold again, and she pointed at the door. "Get out."

"Meher, listen to me, the lift, it stopped working and I was stuck, so I had to… ..".

"Didn't you hear she asked you to leave." Ali said as he took the chance to interrupt Kevin. "And she's your boss, show some respect to her name."

"It has nothing to do with you, dandy, so fuck off." Kevin's anger that was already rising little by little throughout this morning, suddenly seemed to burst out seeing Ali, and he cursed him directly.

"Miss Meher, you should take your guard outside." Aarvi too interjected seeing him insult Ali in front of so many people.

"Wait, did he say a guard, I thought he was something special."

"With how he called miss Meher's name I thought it too. But then again, just look at his clothes, we should've seen it coming."

"Yeah, it's probably a nutcase, that's empty in the upper floor."

"By the way is that really cum? The more I see it.."

"Why are you staring at that stain so intently?"

Hearing the whispers and bits of conversations Meher looked down at Kevin and frowned even more. "Why're you still standing here, get out. And don't show me your face, you've done enough for today."

"Wh… what? Meher.. I mean miss meher, atleast listen to me." Kevin tried to plead and explain even more as he noticed a smirk on Ali's face.

As usual even if the protagonist 99 year old grandpa died of old age and dozens of diseases, he'd still blame the villain, saying he killed his grandpa by giving him too much stress and tension.

And that's what Kevin did too.

'It's all this bastard's fault. He must've done something. Yeah, it's definitely him.' Kevin directly threw all the blame on Ali and cursed him. 'I wish he get stuck in the lift, and no one comes to help him.'

"Miss Meher, the lift really wasn't working for a while, that's why it took me so much time otherwise why would I be so late." "Cause you were busy jerking off, in the lift."

Kevin tried to explain again. But as usual some minion popped up from the crowd and insulted him again.

"You…"

"Mr bodyguard, you should leave before you start another fight. Or I might have to call the police at this rate." Ali grabbed Kevin's hands as he was about to beat some other guy too.

"Stop pretending you bastard, you did this all, didn't you?" Kevin jerked Ali's hand off and glared at him.

"I don't know what you're talking about? I was in the meeting this whole time." Ali replied honestly, his face calm and collected, with playful eyes that seemed to look at some fool and pitying him. "And besides, why would I do anything to you? You're a nobody."

"Cause I ki_." Kevin wanted to say he did it because he killed shiva, but then stopped himself in time.

Glaring daggers at Ali who seemed a little disappointed that this guy didn't get riled up high like he thought he would be, Kevin seemed to understand everything, and clenched his fists even more. "You bast.."

"What was that?" Ali moved his face forward to listen to Kevin's muttering.

"Everyone has their day, Dandy. Today was yours" Kevin said and pushed Ali away.

He took a final glance at everyone in the room and remembered some people's faces, he'll teach them a lesson when the time comes.

Seeing that the drama was over Ali clapped his hand and announced. "The meetings over, you can all leave now. Go and get back to work. The real deal is the one we need next month, so no slacking off."

Hearing him, the melon eaters who just stayed to watch the drama unfold, stood up and left one by one. Leaving only Aarvi, Meredith, Meher and him behind.

"I should go too." Meher said and took the chance to leave too.

"But the celebration,..." Aarvi said but Meher stopped her.

"Maybe next time." She didn't want to stand one more second here. The whole scenario just ruined her whole mood which was happy for getting the deal signed.

Aarvi too knowing her mood, didn't pester her and agreed. "Fine, say thanks to your dad for me. This deal means a lot."

"Sure." Meher said and turned towards Ali. "Goodbye Mr, Arya. And thanks for your help earlier."

Ali, who was busy checking the notifications from the system to see his gains, suddenly woke up hearing someone call him, but looking up all he saw was just Meher's leaving back.

'Ehh whatever, I'll see her next time. Back to system again.' He said and kept reading the notifications.
