Love and loss

"I want to kill him." Ali muttered, as his hands clenched seeing that damn arrogant smiling face in the photo.

"And you will." Liv said as she placed her hands on his and looked him in the eye.

"With my own hands." Ali said, highlighting his words. But Liv just nodded her head and said. "If you want to."

"You're not gonna stop me or try to tell me to leave it to someone else or let it go?"

"And why would I do that? Knowing you, you're not gonna change your mind no matter who said what." Liv said as she stood up. "And besides, if you didn't kill him, I would."

"You said something?" Ali asked, not clear what she muttered after turning around.

"Nothing. I'll bring the dinner out. Just stay there." Liv said and walked into the kitchen to bring what she prepared earlier.

She placed the pots onto the stoves, trying to reheat the food again, and kept looking at the fire as her mind went back to a memory of more than a year ago.

In a bar, Liv was sitting alone in a corner lost in her thoughts, looking at her phone and the entrance door from time to time. Finally losing her patience, she pulled the bottle of champagne placed in front of her and started pouring herself. But after one or two drinks slowly, she just picked the whole bottle and started gulping it down directly.

Not stopping until she nearly choked and had to cough a few times to get her breath back.

"If you wanna drown your heartbreaks, pretty sure anything else on their menu would do a better job then whatever it is that you're drinking now."

A voice interrupted her drinking session, as a hand pulled the bottle away from her and threw it aside.

Hitting the head and knocking out someone who was bringing two glasses of some roofied drinks for some non friendly purposes.

"Shiva," Liv said as she looked up. Her shining eyes immediately dimmed and turned back to coldness, seeing it wasn't whom she expected to see.

"Sitting alone and getting drunk in a public bar without any security or personal guards - it's not your style, Liv." Shiva said as he sat in front of her.

"Spare me the lecture." Liv said as she raised her hand and ordered the waiter to bring her something stronger.

"He _ he had some important matters…"

"Let me guess, that witch sent him to do some errands again. Or wait, did he go by himself before she even ordered him." Liv said, drinking another glass of some old bottle of rum.

"You're drunk." Shiva said, hearing her talking shit about Ali.

"I haven't seen him for two months. And when I finally come back, getting some business deal to finish that witch's dream is more important to him than meeting me."

"I know."

"Did..he know that I'm back? Did he even care?"

"Liv _"

"You're his friend, right? Then why didn't you bring him with you." Liv started speaking as her words started choking and some tears came to her eyes. "Why don't you tell him to stop his foolish pursuit and give up on her already."

"It won't matter, Liv. How many times people have told you to give up on him and how much have you listened?" Shiva said, shaking his head in disappointment.

Liv's drunken face turned even redder in anger after hearing his words, as a tear slipped out from her eyes.

"Then tell me something, what do I do to get him. To win him back. Am I any lesser than that bitch, who won't even look at him twice." she said.

"You're not. You're perfect as you are. But we can't choose who we love, Liv. And we certainly can't stop our hearts from doing so for someone else's sake.

There's no on and off, or transfer and delete button for love. It's a bottomless pit with no escape. If you fall, and fail in it, you can just learn to live in the darkness. Cause there's No getting out, ever." Shiva's tone became colder and calmer at the end of his sentence, as he just drank down the glass he was holding.

"Is that what you're doing? Living in darkness." Liv said subconsciously, as Shiva raised an eyebrow at her comment.

Noticing her blunder, and his changing expression, Liv hurriedly tried to explain "I didn't mean to _"

"My past is buried in secrets that I don't like to share, Liv. Whatever you investigate, or think that you know, forget it. It won't do you any good." Shiva said coldly at her intrusion.

"I just wanted to make sure for his sake. That he stays _" Liv tried to explain but Shiva cut her off. "Leave it."

"You should go home, Liv." Shiva said and stood up to leave.

"As for your love life, in my experience, lovers let go of their love when they lose something very important to make their relationship work. So who knows you might still have a chance one day."

"If Ali lost someone then can I get him?"

Liv asked with a dangerous glint in her eyes, that just screamed murder in shiva's mind, even though he didn't see her face so he interrupted her directly.

"Be careful what you wish for Liv, the Ali you get after losing someone, might not be the same Ali you love." Shiva said and left the bar. Leaving behind Liv who kept thinking about what he said or meant. But after thinking for some time, she just shook her head and whispered "There's no version of him that I won't love. I'm not like his girl. I'm me. I'll never leave him alone."

As her words finished the burning smell of something woke her up. Looking forward she saw the food that she prepared burned to crisp, raising black smoke slowly.

Coughing lightly Liv just closed the stove and cleared her thoughts.

Getting out of the kitchen as she dialed her driver's number and ordered something else to eat.

"I made a mess in the kitchen, so let's just order some take out instead. Do you want anything special _" Liv said as she walked out, still on the call, but stopped when she only saw the empty chair outside. And a note stacked onto it.

"Thanks for everything Liv. I needed it. Really. But I think I'll have to skip on your dinner for now.

I don't think I can eat calmly without washing all this blood on me, with his blood. Let's have breakfast together tomorrow.

– Ali "

As Liv read the small note, her face turned frosty as her eyes took a murderous turn. The whole vibe of her from being the gentle and caring girl changed into an almost manic side who won't hesitate to chop you in pieces, all the while not showing a single change in expression.

"How much time has it been?" She asked her driver.

And the man on the other side shivered in fright hearing the cold tone. But knowing that if he didn't answer in the next two seconds, someone else would be driving this car tomorrow morning, as for him… ..

Not daring to think much, the man's mind worked on magic speed trying to understand what ticked her master. And in the next second he got his answer ready.

"Around five minutes. He used the back door to leave, I think." The man said remembering the face of a passing figure he caught while he was making a reel in the parking lot with multiple brand cars.

"Idiot." Liv cursed and threw her phone on the wall, as she left the room to catch up to this idiot who left to kill someone for the first time. She wasn't opposed to him killing anyone, but she was against leaving proofs of it behind.

On the other hand, Ali was driving his car at high speed moving past several traffic lines and in a rush. It seemed something inside of him was forcing him to rush ahead. Like he was afraid he'd lose his only chance to kill that guy if he was even a second late.

Maybe it was his villain's aura warning him of the danger possessed by a certain protagonist's awakening.

But he didn't know that he was already too late. As Kevin at this time, was already strong enough to beat the crap out of his bodyguard Daniel and his group of followers.

"Not even a day has passed and he already started sending his dogs to trouble me. How I wish he was right here in front of me so I can beat him too." Kevin said as a cold glint flashed in his eyes.
