"Alden, are you alright?" Aether asked worriedly as he dispersed the spiritual energy barrier that protected them from the flames and heat.

As soon as the barrier went down, the heat wave hit him. The ground scorched, and the houses around burned. The whip was before Elttil, who had fallen face flat on the ground.

The fire burned the ground around him, burning his arm and a part of his face.

His right arm had completely caught in flames, and a puddle of blood formed underneath him from the small hole in his chest.

The spiritual energy arrow that had pierced through him slowly faded away, returning to the surroundings.

The fire burning quickly spread. Everyone in the city could see it. It woke up the ordinary people, and they all came out. Panic spread through the citizens.

Thud!

Selena gracefully landed beside Elttil. The fire burned, yet it couldn't touch her as a barrier an inch from her body prevented it.
