"Clementine? Ysac Clementine? I didn't know you had a brother besides Uzana!"

"Oh, I haven't told you about Ysac, have I?" Ragnar murmured to himself.

His tendency to keep things to himself was something that drove Sophia to the brink of frustration. How could she, his wife, be so in the dark about his family's lineage?

They had spent so much time arguing and debating the future of their marriage that they had hardly had a chance to engage in casual conversation—moments that might have helped Sophia, who had lost her memories, to reconnect with Ragnar and learn more about his life.

Ragnar sighed, sensing Sophia's frustration. "Ysac is not my brother; he's my cousin. He is the son of the king before my father, my father's older brother, who perished in the war due to the Trurian poison. Ysac was just a baby when his father died, and so my father ascended to the throne in his place."
