The cozy smell of books surrounded Natalie the moment she walked into the Beverly Hills Public Library. She glanced around, pleased to find that a library still felt like a library no matter how rich the town was.

Ignoring the buzz from her phone that was tucked away in her bag, she immersed herself in the silent world of ink and paper.

...I won't be found here.

She wandered around deliberately avoiding any deep thoughts, it wasn't too hard since places like this one always had a calming effect on her troubled soul and made tuning out the problems easier. Libraries were a much better outlet than the one she had as a teenager. Back then, she had the habit of eating her emotions away in cheap fast-food restaurants. Thinking about the past felt like a safer route to occupy her mind right now so she didn't fight it.
