Chapter 42: CEO Xu Was Such an Exemplary Young Man

Calix laughed at the sight of Leslie looking so bewildered. Her pupils enlarged, surprise was evidently written in them.

"Why? Can't believe it? I had to go through rehab a bit. The treatment bored me so, I started crocheting in my spare time."

While joking, Calix extended a hand to grab the orange cat toy. He gently pressed its stomach. The memory of six years ago resurfaced in his mind, bringing a smile to his lips.

Leslie blinked. Her mouth formed a round shape. She asked cautiously, "...you learned crocheting there? Wouldn't it be difficult for you?"

During their car ride earlier, Calix only mentioned he was in a coma for almost six months. The thought of him having to undergo rehabilitation slipped out of Leslie's mind.

Surely, he needed those treatments, right?

Leslie recalled the scar she accidentally saw this morning. Such a huge mark should result from a gruesome accident.
