Tensions in the village reached a boiling point when one of the villagers betrayed them, revealing their location to a group of bounty hunters searching for Aragos.
"You brought this upon us!" Elara shouted, her fury directed at Aragos.
"I didn't ask for this," he said, his voice cold.
Alysia stepped between them. "We don't have time for this. The hunters will be here any minute."
The betrayal forced them to flee once again, but not before a devastating battle that left the village in ruins.
As they ran, Alysia couldn't help but wonder if staying with Aragos was worth the cost.
Tensions in the village boiled over when one of the villagers betrayed their presence to a group of bounty hunters searching for Aragos.
"Why would you do this?" the elder demanded, her voice trembling with rage.
The traitor, a young man with desperate eyes, looked down. "I had no choice. They promised to spare us if I led them here."
"You fool," Aragos muttered, stepping forward. "They won't spare anyone."
The hunters arrived in force, their weapons gleaming in the sunlight.
"Hand over the king," their leader demanded.
"You'll have to go through me first," Alysia said, stepping forward.
Aragos gave her a sharp look. "You don't know what you're doing."
"Maybe not," she said, summoning her magic, "but I'm not letting them take you."
The battle was fierce, leaving the village in ruins. Alysia and Aragos barely escaped with their lives, but the cost was high.
"Was it worth it?" Alysia asked as they ran through the forest, her voice thick with emotion.
Aragos didn't answer, his expression grim.
