Silas's jaw slacked open as he gawked at the woman, disbelief etched across his face. The room seemed to shrink around him, the noise of the bustling party fading into a distant hum.

'Miss Maya,' he mumbled to himself, utterly bewildered. Maya, who had brazenly attempted to seduce him just hours ago, was actually Luis's bass wife.

She was too young for Luis.

Caleb leaned in closer and whispered, "I heard Mr. Bass recently married for the third time after divorcing his second wife. But I never expected his new wife to be so young, possibly the same age as his children."

Silas nodded slightly, his thoughts mirroring Caleb's. Why would a stunning woman like Maya marry a man so much older than her? There was something unsettling about this situation.
