Esme stood frozen in the doorway, her heart sinking at the sight of Samira massaging Silas. Her breath hitched, the delicate china rattling ominously in her trembling hands. Though she tried to mask her shock with an indifferent look, the tension in her posture betrayed her true feelings as she struggled to process the unexpected sight before her.

Esme's hands trembled at the shocking sight, the agony in her heart increasing. A wound of betrayal that was yet to be healed became fresh once again. She thought all men were the same. 

Silas stiffened like a startled animal and sat up straight, his gaze fixated on Esme, studying her reaction. Samira was disappointed. She would have taken advantage of the situation if this woman had not arrived. She stepped back, hiding her irritation.
