Chapter 40: Chapter40-A Cold Decision

Lilith was taken aback, instinctively protecting the succubus who hid behind her, her eyes shimmering with unease.

"Leo, what are you going to do?" Lilith asked coldly.

"What am I going to do? Her original owner wants her back, and I can't do anything about it," Leo said indifferently.

"Why? Can't we keep her?" Lilith's voice even had a pleading tone.

The succubus reminded her of her own past. 

She couldn't bear to think of the hardships a slave like the succubus might endure.

"Lilith, you're overstepping!" Leo's brows furrowed slightly, his voice cold.

He was the master here, the only one whose words carried weight.

Lilith bit her lower lip, her body trembling slightly. 

The succubus, sensing Lilith's tremors, calmed down. 

"Thank... you," she said to Lilith, her voice rough. 

Then, she gently removed Lilith's arm and walked step by step towards Leo.
