---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It had been two days since the security teams of the Veritas Imperium had setup across from Maeve's family house. No one had entered or exited since that moment and all groceries had been mysteriously brought to the front door without any sight of the people who were doing as such. Her room was utterly clean and set up with hundreds of different mics to pick up each sound that would come from the president of the Veritas Imperium. All of them were of course out of the visual perspective of the recording camera and the space was completely back lit. Her room had been completely picked clean of all fluffy things and cut things and there was an utterly serious theme to it. She didn't like removing them from her room due to the dogs' liking of pissing on them but it was a little price to pay for the boosting of her career.

Outside of her window there was no traffic, no noise and all aerial travel had been re-directed. The Praetorians were downstairs securing the lower floors as many agents from other agencies, including Shield, were on the roof and nearby houses patrolling. Twitches in her hands and her breath brought Maeve to a stand still for a moment as she looked over at the two chairs that were set up. Two standing tabled were next to the chairs with glasses of water already set in place. There would be a singular camera that showed both her and the woman who she would talk to, much like podcasts.

The AI on her computer was doing quality control and resolution definition actively as it switched the themes, colour gradients, pixels and tone to suit the theme she was going for. Seriousness was seeping from every pour of her body and it showed in her technological abuse. Her robot was currently running into the side of a wall with a pitcher of water... It was as if it was slamming its head against the wall in pain and torment.

"Damnodes, please stop that... It's not that bad..."

There was no response but it did stop moving, simply standing still whilst holding the pitcher. She winced at it whilst realising that it was out of power. She had abused it for most of the day to help her set up her over-planned 'studio' audio. Turning back to her setup there was a flash of hesitance and worry that she was stressing too much over the entire thing and that she was overcomplicating it, but she quickly shook that to the side. It was too late for her to change the style now, the representative of the Government was meant to be here in less than an hour.

DING

"SHIT!"

...

Knocking on the front door I couldn't help but look at the architecture of the houses in the UK now. Before the Veritas Imperium many of the structures on the United Kingdom were dilapidated and falling to pieces. Immigration was rocketing off of the charts and there was such instability in the entirety of Europe that it was killing the native populations and cultures.

Since the Veritas Imperium came in this has changed. Africa was a thriving land that housed a large proportion of Middle Eastern and African cities and nations that were producing massive amounts of food without any environmental damage. Wakanda had completely unveiled and was one of the major reasons that the Immigrants that moved to Europe went back. They had suggested that they take these peoples to educate them and house them. With that initiated the entirety of Europe recovered within a year or two and the crime rate dropped massively.

Who knew that having clashing cultures and a massive religious difference caused problems? Well I did and so did Wakanda, luckily the Immigrants were mostly just looking for a better life, one that at the time wasn't available to them in Africa or the Middle East. But the great things about this change was that all of the architecture was restored and all of the modern buildings had style and taste to them. No more large cuboid blocks of dull colours and cement. Unique shapes and carvings were focused upon and with the economy stabilised to the point that getting a full grocery cart was about twenty pounds the people of the former UK were thriving and generating so much production. So impactful was this production that it has aided several times in creating parts of the planetary ring around Terra.

I continued to contemplate as I heard the large rhythmic thrumming of power cores. My praetorian guard opened the doors whilst lowering their heads towards me, the agents all around the room did the same with many of them coming to attention. I nodded to them and went up to shake hands with them all before moving over to the kitchen where I found a woman that looked very similar to the streamer from all those years ago.

"Good evening, you must be Maeve's mother?"

"A-ah, yes! Y-you can call me Lilae..."

I gave her a wink before leaning down and grasping her hand, kissing the back of it. Finished with my courtesy I leaned back up into a full standing position, watching as the mother was completely flustered. My aura was as such that I could turn completely straight people with a glance, and it seemed to be extremely effective on the woman for some reason.

'She must have batted for both teams...?'

Stepping back my feet moved away from Lilae and I began walking up the stairs. Attending a stream was different to going to a speech but in a weird way it was much more calm for me. Funnily enough there were hundreds of plush bears and figurines that were sticking out in the hallway as I passed, my mind reaching into Maeve's room to notice how sterile it looked. My appearance must have stressed her out, so I teleported all of the plushies back into her room and knocked on the door.

"Eeek!"

She squeaked at the knock on her door as the frantic sound of feet pounding on floor boards resounded within. No doubt she was trying to clear up the recently teleported fixtures. Turning the knob on the door I slowly entered, witnessing Maeve running with multiple bears in her arms, one with armour adorning it that looked suspiciously like Trinket from Vox Machina... Chuckling as I entered I saw her pace freeze as she turned pale white, like a sheet of paper. The room itself was rather plain and bare except for the plushies, pink LEDs sitting unused due to the seriousness of their owner in this meeting.

"A-a-a-a..."

"Don't worry, I am used to these reactions. Now, how about we setup this room with a bit more of your personality, shall we?"

Like a guppy fish she stood there her mouth agape. Her eyelids blinked numerous times before eventually slowing in pace as she watched me walk through her room and look around. Her plushies floated upwards into the open display cupboards as the LEDs flickered on soon after. The cameras and lights were left alone but the entire mood of the room shifted. Unlike the serious display previously, the room was now vibrant and lively, like one would expect from an affluent streamer with 200 million followers.

"There we go, much better!"

Looking from the corner of my vision I saw Maeve scanning the room before looking at me in exasperation. Luckily for me her awkwardness and surprise quickly faded. She moved forwards to her seat in the middle of the room and sat back. She was flushed in her face now, sweat gathering at the edges of her forehead.

Deciding that I was being a bit hasty I presented my hand to her seated form and smiled at her. I was a bit much for most people let alone a normal High-Human woman who was just trying her best to suit the seriousness my entourage brings along with them. Reaching out and grasping my hand I watched as her expression looked off. Most likely she was sick, this being evident in the next few moments as her throat made a chunky swallowing noise. In my past life I would have felt sickened but I had flayed people alive in this life, so it was nothing. Honestly the entire display was rather cute, if it weren't for my over abundance of wives already than I would have definitely hit 'that'.

"My-my name is Maeve... Mae for short if you want..."

"Nice to meet you Mae, I am Emelia Lionheart, Emelia for short."

Her eyes widened and rolled back up into her head as she fell backwards. Speeding forwards I grasped her body and lightly placed heron the ground. I started to figure that she hadn't known my position or my name...

'Well this is awkward.'

...

Time passed as an hour later Maeve woke up. Her eyes scanned the room for a little while before she impaled her vision onto me and continued to glare. Sweat once again creeped up onto her face and across her body despite her best efforts to not panic. It was now obvious she had had no idea who I was.

At the same time Maeve:

'HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!! I-i-i am speaking to 'THE' president of the Veritas Imperium...!'

She ran a finger through the side of her hair as she attempted to hide her nervousness and lack of comprehension. It didn't work, but she didn't know that.

'This means that this stream is possibly going to be viewed by the entire world and my questions would have a superb importance to understanding our world's leader... right...?'

She coughed and stood up fully, walking over to her computer soon after and 'hiding' her anxiety by diving into supposed work. Emelia simply sat on the chair that had been set for her in the middle of the room. The Stream was scheduled to start in an hour from now and the clock was slowly ticking down as Maeve 'checked' her set-up, already knowing it was perfect.

'What questions should I ask her!?'

'M-maybe something like how she feels about the future of the veritas imperium?'

'NO! That's way too simple!'

'F-fuck, i suck at this... I'll ask the AI...'

The AI resisted her commands and questions as it continued to stay fixated on managing her cameras, some curses and frustrated exclamations hissing through the air into Emelia's ears.

'I'll wing it... May as well at this point...'

'Hold up, mum left me questions didn't she???'

She searched her desk for several minutes until she found the notes her mother and her had come up with. Many of them were simple questions about cost of living and how stability was achieved so quickly. Honestly they lacked a lot of juiciness but that was fine for some start-up questions.

Jotting down some extra questions she came up with on the fly she eventually made her way to her seat in the middle of the room. Her face was basked in the light of her LEDs and lighting setup but she ignored this. Praetorians slammed against the stairs as they ascended to just outside of the door, taking protective stances out the front of her bedroom.

Emelia wasn't bored however as she was sorting out the answers for every conceivable question possible, something done in seconds. From there on out she looked over every inch of Maeve's body and home with her senses, detecting a faint heat from downstairs sourced around a kettle and the protective forces.

Within ten minutes they were both ready, drinks procured for them by the agents downstairs and biscuits layed out around them. The theme had already been changed to one of moderate comfort, thus Maeve decided to roll with it... As far as she was concerned she was just lucky to get to speak with the Commander In charge.

"Ehhmm... Are you ready, Mrs President?"

"Heh, just call me Emelia. The titles and such are tiresome, they make me feel like a 60 year old woman who sat in the American Congress before the world changed..."

"O-oh, okay, well... Are you ready Emelia?"

"Whenever you are Mae."

"Okay, well let's start it now I guess... Better to be early than late..."

"Sure!"
