Chapter 193: Chapter 192: Carol Vs Magneto

Seeing Pharaoh leave for the metal pyramid in the distance to go and confront Apocalypse, I looked to my right, glancing at the young girl named Rogue, whose powers weren't too different from mine; though while I simply absorb the raw energy of someone or something, she absorbs their powers.

"Alright, c'mon, little missy; we've got some bad guys to take care of." Said Carol lightly as she glanced at Rogue while shooting energy beams from her hands at Magneto and Storm, keeping them at bay.

"Got it!" Stated Rogue enthusiastically as she looked around, observing the situation before eventually deciding to fly towards Storm.

"Sorry in advance, Storm!" Said Rogue apologetically as she rapidly approached Storm, who counterattacked with numerous bolts of lightning, though despite borrowing only a small portion of Tut's power, she could easily evade them.

Watching Rogue charge at the woman named Storm, which was probably the best move she could've done since she and Magneto were keeping the rest of her teammates pinned behind cover, and unless they wished to get burnt to a crisp by lightning, they couldn't do much; however, with Rogue and I keeping Storm and Magneto busy, the rest of the X-Men will finally be able to do something.

And as if right on cue, I spotted Beast, along with the rest of the X-Men, emerging from underneath destroyed and collapsed buildings before; they were split up into two groups, with a few going to assist Rogue, who was keeping all of Storm's attention on her, and the others were going after the woman who kept trying to slice me with a Katana.

'Thank goodness; I was always on edge, knowing she could get so close to me while hiding from my senses.' Mused Carol as she glanced down at Wolverine, whom Psylocke's Katana had just stabbed through, yet other than a grunt of pain, which was quickly followed up by slashing his claws at her, he was completely fine, especially considering the instant she removed her sword, his wound healed within seconds.

However, my stupid ass was too busy focusing on other people rather than the person I was actually fighting, which caused me to get hit with a large metal truss, flinging me into the ground; ripping the trussing in half, freeing myself, I stood up, only I was instantly greeted with a car slamming into me, pushing me back into the ground followed by several large metal objects slamming atop the vehicle.

'Tsk; I've never fought Magneto, but I've read about him during my younger days, though was he always this strong?' Thought Carol with a click of her tongue as she pushed against the numerous tons of weight pressing atop her, slowly standing up while lifting all the weight along with the force of Magneto pushing down.

Looking out the crater, I glanced at Magneto, who was holding his arms down while straining, seemingly doing his damndest to keep me down, yet it was of no use; I've lifted entire spaceships that make the helicarrier look tiny, so this wasn't enough to pin me down, though I will admit, it was a good try.

Removing one of my hands, I clenched my fist while converging a substantial amount of energy towards my arm before punching the car above me, causing it to explode as my energy swept through all of the metal objects I was holding, creating a massive explosion that engulfed me in it as well.

"Fuck, I can't see." Muttered Carol with a cough as she speedily flew out of the smoke cloud, floating high above the air before flying towards Magneto while firing energy beams at him, yet, like always, an invisible shield blocked him.

Clicking my tongue, I continued to fly towards him, only to punch the shield surrounding him, causing various cracks' to emerge on the very air before they were promptly repaired, causing me to frown as I glared at Magneto through his invisible shield.

"I've learned from my mistake; people like you and Pharaoh are simply too fast for me to fight properly despite my power. So, I needed something to protect me against being like you when I'm incapable of doing so; thankfully, it seemed like our Lord had found the correct person for the job." Remarked Magneto with a faint smile as he harmlessly floated in the air while eyeing Carol, whose face constantly twitched, yet just when she raised her hand to punch the invisible barrier, a vibrating noise rang out, causing them to both frown.

Looking down at my hips, I reached into my pocket and grabbed my phone, only to see it was an unknown caller, which caused me to frown even harder than before.

"Hello?" Asked Carol quietly as she held the phone against her ear while awkwardly looking at Magneto, who was secretly biding his time while acquiring large amounts of metallic objects.

"He's referring to the other man we saw earlier; he can make barriers. He had a large one surrounding the entire area, though; I busted right through it without too much problem, so you should be able to do so as well." Remarked Pharaoh as he walked inside the metal pyramid, searching for Apocalypse, who, for some reason, he couldn't hear.

Glancing at Magneto, I saw his face twitch, causing me to inwardly smirk as I looked around for the man, only to see him calmly sitting on a destroyed building in the distance while seemingly overlooking everything.

"Thanks for the information; so how are you and Apocalypse going? It doesn't sound like you're fighting right now. Did you already beat that chump up?" Asked Carol curiously as she used her other fist, which was coated in colorful energy, to punch the shield, causing numerous cracks to cover the very air separating both Magneto and her, forcing him back while he attacked with the various metals he had acquired through that short break.

"Heh, I wish. I haven't even found that blue loser; he's hiding from me. I can't hear or see him, though I can smell the scent he's left behind, so I'm not helpless. Anyway, it sounds like your little break has been cut short, so I'll hang up; I don't want to be the reason you get injured. Go get them, you sexy tigress." Stated Pharaoh with a snort as he lightly kicked the wall in annoyance, creating a massive dent while he continued following the trail of Apocalypse, only to smirk towards the end before hanging up.

"Heh, that cheeky boy; I think he just tried flirting with me a little." Muttered Carol with a smirk as she stored her phone in her pocket now with an ego boost from Tut's light flirting.

Flying through the scraps of metal Magneto kept throwing at me, I dodged the ones I could and blasted the ones I couldn't with my energy beams as I speedily approached him; his attempts at stopping me were to no avail and rather pointless if I'm being honest, after all, his strength is determined by what metal he is using, and if one he was fighting could destroy steel, and iron, the two most common metals than he was going to have a very difficult time, just like he was having right now.

Smashing through a large truck that was blocking my path to Magneto, I punched him, yet like always, the shield stopped my attacks; though, unlike the other times, the shield didn't crack, which caused me to frown as I had used even more strength in this attack than the previous ones. Watching Magneto get flung into the distance, I swiftly followed right after him and appeared behind him before attacking once more, this time using far more strength than previously, yet, in the end, I was the one who was hurt, and there was only a slight crack.

'Fuck me, it almost feels like I just punched Pharaoh.' Mused Carol with a frown as she shook her hand slightly before gazing at Magneto, who was once again flung in the distance.

With Magneto's shield seemingly strengthened, I looked for the one responsible for the shield, only to find him standing much closer, yet he still seemed as lackadaisical as before. Frowning, I blasted him with a weak energy beam, though unsurprisingly, an invisible shield protected him.

"That's not happening; I refuse to allow another person to break through my shield today." Remarked the man while standing on an invisible platform as he looked up at Carol before glancing at Magneto.

Raising an eyebrow at his remark, I shrugged my shoulders since I didn't really care about what he had to say before flying and kicking him, though compared to when I hit Magneto, the barrier didn't even crack. Rubbing my shin in pain, I backed away while glancing at the other two, yet only Storm seemed to have an invisible shield protecting her, though unlike Magneto's, it was cracking from every one of Rogue's punches.

'Is she using more strength than me? No, that's not it; it's the opposite: she's using less strength. So then, why the hell can't I break through Magneto's shield?' Pondered Carol with a frown of confusion as she looked at Rogue and her group handling Storm before glancing back at Magneto, who was far off in the distance thanks to her previous punch.

I was confused as to why I was having such a hard time breaking through Magneto's barrier and why it was so strong, though I knew standing around wasn't going to fix it, so I flew after him.
