Chapter 17: Bella: Hopeless Dragon's Birth

Anti-Entropy Headquarters, outside the infirmary.

Chase leaned on a crutch, hobbling along the corridor, undergoing rehabilitation training. Around him, Anti-Entropy personnel, wearing white coats and carrying work badges, walked past without paying much attention. They were already used to this sight.

Chase's injuries were neither light nor severe. Despite Theresa going easy on him, taking a punch from a Herrscher Valkyrie was not easy. Additionally, Chase had also been shot. The bullets were removed, and the wounds were cauterized, but the trauma from the bullets was significant.

So, up to now, Chase was in a semi-disabled state. He could walk, but not much; he could perform regular activities, but not too much.

It was like a diabetic person looking at food and being told by the doctor, "You can eat, but not too much."

Chase initially thought that the talents given by the simulator were useful, but, of course, this was from the perspective of an ordinary person. However, he found that in this magical world with the mysterious power of "Honkai," these talents seemed somewhat inadequate.

If we set aside the disasters caused by "Honkai," this world could be treated as a high martial arts world. Might makes right, survival of the fittest, that's how it is.

Recently, Chase thought, if he could draw a talent like "Super Regeneration" or "Strength to Carry a Cauldron," maybe this simulation wouldn't be so difficult. However, blaming fate was not Chase's style; he just thought about it.

Suppose there really are "ifs" in the world. Then King Oedipus wouldn't be trapped by destiny; Shakespeare wouldn't create the tragedy of Hamlet, and Shi Tiesheng would see the mimosa tree his mother planted.

Chase, leaning on his crutch, found a secluded but open area and sat on a bench.

He had been with Anti-Entropy for a while. Although Welt and the others had been taking good care of him, the absence of that troublesome girl made Chase feel a bit empty.

"Is something on your mind?" a soft female voice came from behind. Chase turned his head.

"Dr. Einstein?" Chase was a bit puzzled.

"I didn't expect you to come here. I had to inquire multiple times to find you," Einstein smiled.

"What does Dr. Einstein want with me?" Chase asked.

"The experimental data from the Babylon Laboratory that you brought is very helpful to Anti-Entropy. In return, Anti-Entropy will do its best to help you find your sister," Einstein said.

Chase remained calm. The information about the "Tower" was like a letter of introduction he prepared from the beginning. Its effectiveness wasn't surprising.

Anti-Entropy wasn't a rogue organization; they wouldn't engage in shady deals. Especially since Chase was a Herrscher's brother, they naturally treated him with caution.

Chase continued, "But Dr. Einstein, you rushed here to find me. It can't be just for this matter, right?"

Einstein sighed, "Sometimes I feel like you're not a child."

Clearly still a child but appearing so mature. That's what they called a "youth with an old soul."

Of course, Einstein definitely didn't know that there was an adult soul inside Chase's body.

"Well, Anti-Entropy has found a reaction from your sister," Einstein nodded, "Welt asked me to notify you and accompany him."

Chase's gaze became firm, "Please make sure to let me go."

....

Siberian Snowfield

Little Snow

A truck was struggling to move on the snowfield.

It wasn't because there was too much snow on the snowfield, making the road difficult. It was just because... Sirin and Bella, the two of them couldn't make up one person who could drive.

Originally, Sirin planned to follow Chase's lead, pull everyone onto the truck, and then randomly find a kind person to help settle these children. But later, she found that her idea was too naive.

The truck was found, and to fit the children she brought out from the "Tower," she specially grabbed a truck. Then... she found that she couldn't drive.

What was this, a stillbirth? Or death before birth?

Sirin didn't know, but Sirin was very helpless.

The invincible Herrscher of the Void fell into contemplation, and Bella beside her also fell into contemplation.

Although Bella didn't know why she should contemplate, since Her Majesty the Queen was contemplating, it was good for her to contemplate as well.

But then, Bella was surprised to find that after Her Majesty the Queen contemplated for a while, she turned her head and looked at her, with a strange light in her eyes.

"B-Bella..."

Bella instinctively sensed that something was not right.

"Your Majesty, is there anything you command?" Bella asked nervously. Even though she felt that the abyss was behind her, for Her Majesty the Queen, she could brave it if needed.

"Bella, can you still grow larger?" Sirin, supporting her chin with her hand, asked with curiosity.

Bella hesitated, "Uh, yes, I can."

Sirin excitedly said, "Then quickly grow larger!"

Grow larger for what?

Bella found that the gaze of Her Majesty the Queen unintentionally fell on the truck carrying the group of children. Her eyes were filled with resistance.

She felt as if struck by lightning. She couldn't let Her Majesty make her pull the truck, right?

No way, no way!

She, Bella, was an Judgement-class Honkai beast! She was the most loyal companion of the Second Herrscher! Letting her pull the truck would be a laughingstock!

Once she pulled the truck, how could she stand among the Judgment-class Honkai beasts?

When the Judgment-class Honkai beasts had a meeting...

Bella: I am the noble dragon-shaped Honkai beast!

Other Judgment: You pulled a truck for humans (definitely).

Bella: I have a simulated Herrscher core!!

Other Judgment-class Honkai Beasts: You pulled a truck for humans (disdain).

Bella: I have a human body!!!

Other Honkai Beasts: You pulled a truck for humans (mockery).

That kind of thing, no way!

She, Benares, would never pull a truck, never!

...

"Bella, why are you standing there? Don't shake the truck so much; the riding experience is terrible."

When the dragon-shaped Honkai beast pulling the truck in front heard this, its vision went black.

"Growl..."

Snowflakes fluttered and fell into Bella's eyes, turning into water and flowing down her face.

Forget it, forget it, it doesn't matter!

She was Benares, the Judgment-class Honkai beast, the most loyal companion of the Second Herrscher!

Now she had actually ended up like this, which couldn't help but make people sigh.

Just a while ago, she fought evenly with the First Herrscher.

Yes, evenly matched, meaning the First Herrscher was half-dead, and she was split open.

"Bella, don't stand there in a daze. Quickly pull the truck; the speed has slowed down again!" Her beloved Queen sat in the driver's seat, holding the steering wheel excitedly, controlling the direction of the truck.

"Grr!"

Everything was for Her Majesty the Queen!

Worthy!
