Chapter 13: The Chunin Exam: Final test III
Round 4
Yohei (Kumo) vs Innoue (Suna)
Luckily for Suna, they won the 4th round quite easily under 10 minutes.
10 minutes, that was how long Osamu had his rest until the referee called for him.
"Sheesh, who knew that Sunagakure would pull of this kind of tactic." Shintaro commented.
"That kunoichi is a wind element type based on her weapon. Osamu is in a disadvantage." Shoto added.
"Then is he gonna lose this time?" Genma asked.
"Although Osamu is not that strong compared to geniuses. He has his own way of being on top in our team. He beat the both of us after all. I wonder what that kunoichi will experience." Shintaro wondered.
Will he hear a girl's scream? Or will he see Osamu finally be bested by someone, by a girld no less? He can't wait to see.
Meanwhile Genma and Hayate were both thinking on the same page.
If a civilian Genin defeated his teammates from major clans like the Nara and Aburame, surely he is some sort of a genius?
Round 5
Temari (Suna) vs Osamu (Konoha)
"Are the both of you ready?"
Both nodded in acknowledgement.
"Begin!"
As soon as the words fell, wind gust travelled towards Osamu who just finished weaving seals.
His body was torn apart and soon replaced by a block of wood.
"Not bad." Temari commented and started searching for him.
"Right there!" Temari sent another wave of wind jutsu towards Osamu's direction who was currently constantly running.
Osamu went around her as wind blast kept being sent towards him which he nearly avoided each time.
Temari sent a 4th one but unlike before she immediately followed up in advance to trap Osamu.
Osamu just smiled.
'it might be basic, but can be pretty annoying if someone keeps on spamming them with it'he thought as he finished his hand seals.
Osamu who was trapped between two wind jutsu was replaced by a block of wood as it was shredded to pieces.
"Shuriken Kage bunshin!" Osamu's voice was clearly heard by Temari as she looked above and saw a rain of shurikens.
Unlike her however, most Jonins were able to see the flaw in the jutsu and they were able to tell it was Genjutsu.
Faced with a rain of shurikens, Temari was not even fazed and sent her own jutsu.
"Fuuton:Air current wild dance!"
Wind blast immediately stopped the main shurikens as the rest disappeared.
Temari was surprised.
'Genjutsu? When did he?'
Temari immediately cancelled it just in case.
'kai'
As soon as she did that, a kunai was already in the distance towards her face.
Once more however, unlike her the rest clearly saw a kunai with explosive tag attached to it's ring.
Unfortunately, Temari only saw an ordinary kunai. Temari smirked.
"Ran out of trick?" Temari was preparing to block it with his fan's metal but she avoided it at the last second as Kankuro warned.
"No! Dodge it Temari!" Following her brother's clearly panicked warning, she jumped to avoid the kunai.
As soon as she landed, the kunai exploded which surprised her.
'if I didn't follow my brother, I would've lost either the match or my life. He's not simple.'
That should've been plenty obvious for her since Osamu kept getting away from her attacks. However, the Temari right now is not yet the same as the Temari in Canon, that's still two years later.
Seeing his trick fail, Osamu switched towards his creations as he was still in Temari's blind spot.
Osamu threw another batch of shurikens directly towards Temari who didn't even hesitate to blast it with her jutsu.
As soon as she did that, she immediately pressed further as she closed the distance.
'Let's see you dodge this!'
Before Temari could bring her hands down to initiate her jutsu, Osamu beat her to it as he casted his own jutsu.
"Nightmare Series: IT!"
Temari found herself watching her fellow kunoichi and Shinobi running away from a clown who was currently munching her brother Kankuro.
She suddenly caught the clown's attention as pennywise looked at her. He grinned showing his bloodied sharp teeth and face from munching Kankuro.
Temari stared at her brother's body which was limped and blood was leaking. She saw it being thrown like garbage by pennywise as the clown started walking towards her.
Temari didn't feel any fear however, no. What she felt was wrath!
Tears came out of her eyes as she looked in defiance towards pennywise who in turn was surprised to see his victim not scared at him.
Temari grinded her teeth as she flared her remaining chakra.
'Kai'
Yes she already knew it was Genjutsu, but the scene of seeing her own brother in that state was so disturbing she was unable to respond.
When the Genjutsu was cleared up all she saw was Osamu walking away from her and the civilians cheering him with applause.
"What happened?" She asked in confusion.
The ref who heard her sighed.
"You lost miss Temari. While you were in caught in the Genjutsu, he had all the time in the world to finish you but simply placed a kunai on your neck. Which forced me to announce him the winner." Temari heard what happened and started walking back too.
'I won't fall for it again.' she swore to herself as she wants to further train herself.

Team Konoha were all wearing smiles and we're proud to see Osamu won the match.
They were on their way back to Konoha when Genma and Hayate congratulate him. He accepted their goodwill and promised to be better for Konoha.
As soon as they arrived, they immediately went to the Hokage to report and receive the verdict.
Of course, news of their performance were already reported to the Hokage before they arrived.
In front of them were Hiruzen along with Shikaku who was standing besides the Hokage to the right side. Even Kakashi was standing there to the left side.
"Welcome back, young ones. Congratulations for showing the strength of Konoha."
Osamu and his team were not smiling at the Hokage's announcement. Only the other team seemed to be on high spirits.
They were after all, proud of their juniors. Instead of envy, they were proud to be part of the village where these geniuses came from.
"Alright, Team 3. You are to follow your Jonin sensei for a follow up test. This test will be the determining factor if you are worthy to be granted the rank Chunin. Dismiss!"
"Yes, Hokage-sama." Genma lead his team away while Hayate was also dismissed.
"The 3 of you are already worthy of the rank, therefore, congratulations. From today onwards, all three of you are distinguished as Chunin Ninja."
Shikaku distributed their Chunin vests. As soon as he finished giving them each, Hiruzen spoke again.
"Yago Osamu, for the contribution you have provided the village. It is only right to reward you, as the Hokage, I am giving you the right to ask for anything as a reward as long as it is within my power, I shall give it to you."
Shintaro and Shoto were shocked to hear it, only Kakashi and Shikaku was not, they were already aware of the Hokage's decision.
Without hesitation, Osamu answered.
"Can I choose from the jutsu created by the 4th or 2nd Hokage? I just want to study 1." Shikaku and Kakashi were surprised to hear Osamu's request.
A jutsu created by the 2nd or 4th Hokage! Even if it's only 1 jutsu, each of the jutsu by the 2nd Hokage or 4th Hokage is definitely worth so much.
However, contrary to their reaction, Hiruzen's reaction was a bit different.
"Are you sure? Are you not going to ask for mine? If you chose one of mine, then I'll permit you to study 2 jutsu's and even let you copy the scrolls." Shikaku and Kakashi's lips twitch.
Their current Hokage, envious of his master and junior Hokage who are both no longer alive.
Shintaro and Shoto were no different. Their only question was, 'why just him?'
"I just need one from either of them, but if you let me add one more from yours then I will be very happy and will even have more strength to protect the village!" Osamu pointed out.
More like bargained with Hiruzen.
"That's not a bad idea, I will let you learn one jutsu either from the 2nd or 4th Hokage and then one from me." Hiruzen said while smiling.
"I will accept your offer!"
