Chapter 84: Chapter 84

[Third Person's PoV]

After Peter and Gwen finished their superhero duty, Peter received a call from Uncle Ben.

"Pick it up, Aria," Peter said with a sigh as he put back on his regular clothes, with Gwen doing the same.

"Peter… please come home. I think that was enough time for the two of you to have calmed down. I think it's best to have a civil conversation between all of us."

"..."

"We'll be there in a minute," Peter said after a few seconds before hanging up the call.

Peter let out a frustrated groan ruffling his hair before turning invisible alongside Gwen.

"Peter, my dad is most likely home at this hour and most probably wants to talk with me alone…" Gwen said reluctantly as she didn't want to leave Peter by himself to face his aunt and uncle.

Peter just shook his head although it couldn't be seen, "It's fine we each need to confront our family individually, we can call each other after and talk about"

Gwen smiled before doing, they both then jumped from the building they were standing on and went to their respective homes.

A few minutes later…

Peter landed in front of the house before entering.

Hearing the door open, Uncle Ben peeked out from the kitchen. "Ah, you're he–" He blinked a few times before warily calling out, "Hello?"

Peter was at first confused before he realized that he forgot to turn their invisibility off.

"Sorry about that," Peter said, undoing his invisibility.

Uncle Ben let out an exasperated sigh. "That's definitely going to take some getting used to… Anyways, come in here and sit down."

He made his way towards the kitchen where he found Uncle Ben and Aunt May sitting down at the kitchen table. He went and sat down on their opposite side without saying anything.

There was a heavy silence as they stared at each other. "So, how's your day going?" Peter asked, unable to handle their silence.

"Could be better, and you?" Uncle Ben replied, just trying to make their interaction a little less awkward.

"Oh, you know, the usual. We got attacked in school by a crazy scientist that turned into a giant Lizard, went out and fought a mechanical Rhino, got sucked in a wormhole and ended up in an alternate reality where we met alternate versions of ourselves, returned here, re-fought the crazy Lizard scientist and metal Rhino, captured them, made a cure for the Lizard, sent them both to prison before coming here where we told you our identity… but other than that, nothing crazy," Peter replied, shrugging his shoulders.

Aunt May and Uncle Ben looked at him with their mouths hanging wide open, unable to believe what he just described.

"D-Did that seriously happen?" Uncle Ben couldn't help but stutter.

Peter took out his phone and showed them the picture he took with everyone before leaving Miles' universe.

"Yeah, see here? Apparently, I, Peter Parker, am destined to become Spider-Man in almost every single universe," Peter explained.

Uncle Ben and Aunt May stared at Peter's phone and at the picture for a few seconds before Aunt May then asked, "When did this happen? You haven't been absent or anything for a long period of time?"

"Ah, you know, space-time nonsense. Time works differently. Remember how you couldn't get in contact with us for about 30 minutes before we texted you? Yeah, during those 30 minutes, we spent around 3 days in that universe," Peter answered.

Uncle Ben and Aunt May looked at each other before looking back at the picture in front of them.

"Tell me, do you know their parents or aunts and uncles' reactions to them doing what they're doing?" Aunt May asked with a serious expression on her face.

Peter was unsure of how to answer her question and sat silent for a bit before asking,

"Do you want the awful painful truth? Or the truth with a bit of a white lie without actually lying but concealing some of the things that make it awfully painful?"

"What?" they both muttered.

"Give us both, give us the latter first and then the former," Uncle Ben said, curious as to what Peter had to say.

Peter nodded his head. "For the latter: With them, some of their aunts knew and helped them out while the others chose to keep their family oblivious."

There was a pause before Peter said, "For the former… most of them don't get to see their uncles' reactions to them being Spider-Man because, well… their Uncle Ben is dead… his death is the catalyst that causes each of them to become Spider-Man in the first place. And so as to not worry their aunt, they chose to remain silent."

That piece of information shook them slightly as Aunt May reached over and helped her husband's hand in a grip.

"If that's the catalyst as you call it, how come I'm still alive and you're 'Spider-Man'?" Uncle Ben asked with a confused and serious expression.

Peter shrugged his shoulders before letting out a sly smirk, "Different universes… Maybe their Uncle Ben is destined to die while mine is a stubborn old man."

Uncle Ben scoffed at first before smirking right back.

Aunt May, still holding onto Ben, looked back at the picture before looking at Peter and back at the picture before sighing.

She ran her fingers through her hair. "I swear, Peter, you're going to turn all my hair grey with your nonsense. Fine. I won't make you quit being this Spider-Man… although I would really want you to. I know you're too stubborn to heed my advice and would probably sneak out or something, so might as well give you my permission.

But there will be some conditions. If I see you are failing in school, then I'm allowed to suspend your activities. You would have to keep me updated on what you do, even if it's small, I want updates to make sure you're alright.

Just no more secrets, please. If you have anything else that you have kept hidden, just throw them out now since I'm being nice and nothing you say could probably shock me."

Peter inwardly pumped his fist before looking away, feeling slightly guilty when the secret part was mentioned.

"Just out with it," Uncle Ben sighed, not having the mental fortitude to deal with all of this for too long.

Peter started pressing his index fingers together before puckering his lips and looking away from them, "Well… Let's just say you may or may not have a granddaughter."

"WHAT!!!" They both shouted, standing up and slamming their hands on the table.

Peter flipped over his phone and said, "Introduce yourself, Aria."

Aria's hologram manifested from his phone before they bowed towards them. "Hello Grandmother, hello Grandfather, I'm daddy's daughter, A.R.A.C.H.N.I.D, Aria for short. It is a pleasure to finally meet you."

"Peter, what is this?" Uncle Ben asked, pointing at Aria.

Aria then started pouting at them. "I already introduced myself, I'm not an it. I said my name was Aria."

"That– That isn't a recording or something you made like an edited video or something?" Uncle Ben asked.

"Well, I was created in a way… Since I'm an A.I created by Daddy, which is why he is my father, my creator, like most fathers are."

Aunt May and Uncle Ben held their heads as they felt a migraine growing from all the news they just kept receiving one after the other.
