Chapter 61: A distress call

The sun had set and yet the resounding clang of swords persisted emerging from every direction in the forest and drowned in the fierceful growls from the savages.

The dawn of a new law,Demons, spilling the blood of their fellow demons,an event that would forever go down in history.

Semonios fighting with everything they've got against countless barberic beasts void of reasoning and only clad with the instinct to kill.

The battle had lingered longer than they expected, nothing had actually gone as expected but despite what stood before them, they all trusted Tyran's Judgement and had vowed to bring back home thousands of these beasts.

A battle wasnt the intent at first but the situation at hand had led to that, with the sequence of events occurring a battle was inevitable.

The emperor flew above the trees distributing excesses to knights he sensed felt weary.

Gerald watched a few dozens of savages rampaged towards his direction.

He took a stance to summon a magic circle when Tyran appeared in front of him with both hands streched Infront of him.

The knights eyes drifted from the Emperor's brown coloured hair down to his armour before settling on his hands, wondering what he was about to do.

It was his place to protect the emperor not be protected by him.

But he knew the emperor didn't always see things that way.

"In my empire, the strong must protect the weak in order to ensure continuity and survival".

That was Tyran's rule,a rule he always kept.

Although seeing Tyran in front of him made his heart soar but he still felt it was out of place.

"Your imperial majesty you don't need to_"

She scootched aside as Tyran's eyes started to glow bright gold before a golden light encompassed him.

Gerald watched as blood began leaking from every opening in their bodies from their eyes down to their anal opening.

In no time, the ground was bathed in their blood and the savages dropped dead, falling on each other's corpse.

The blond haired knight watched eye widened.

He had heard of an ancient blood technique used by powerful demons, especially the imperial family which allowed one to control a person's blood but he had never seen anyone use it.

Bloodless was a technique invented by the first demon's and at first only the imperial lineage could use it but recently a few very powerful demons had discovered a way to cast the spell among whom he heard was General Zhang,a high ranking official in Edor.

Gerald looked below him,the blood on the Forest floor was now past his ankle, one could no longer see the forest floor which was littered with corpses and more kept piling up.

These beast kept coming seeing the battle was against them, had he been mistaken about their Evolving or was there something else going on they were yet to figure out.

The knights imprisoned more of them and killed just as many.

Emperor Tyran wasn't the least bit tired.

The Savages kept filling him with more spiritual energy as they charged at him unaware of the fact their life force was being taken away until they dropped dead.

Tyran ascended above the trees, observing the savages coming from the distance.

He paused mid air for a few minutes to let them draw nigh to his position before carrying out the plot on his mind.

Immediately the savages entered Tyran's range of attack, they all went limp as blood leaked from their bodies before they dropping dead.

The savages around them had reduced drastically and in no time the knights busied themselves with capturing the remaining few.

"Help me...Gerald...please!"came Zero's voice via telepathy.

"I went west.... quickly...I am dying"

"I'll come to you where are you?"questioned but the link had already been severed.

A worried look formed on Gerald's face as he looked in Tyran's way who was busy chanting a spell that made a few savages unable to move, allowing the morph knights to summon chains on them.

The emperor had given him orders and even if he told Tyran Zero was in danger,he wouldn't careless.

He knew of the emperor's suspicions towards his friend.

Empty suspicions he knew could never be true.

He had to do this himself.

Gerald disappeared to appear at a good distance from his group on a tree before taking off, flying west.

From above his eyes scanned the forest floor below trying to find Zero yet he couldn't pickup a trace of his scent.

After having flown for a few minutes, his nose picked up the scent of Semonios and Savages.

What he thought to be the western group.

He descended below the trees before walking towards a general.

"General... I am looking for someone "

"The Emperor's own knight... Shouldn't you be by the Emperor's side?...who is it you seek?"

"Chief Knight Zero"Gerald said as he walked towards him, lifting up an approaching savage from behind with his mind that almost scratched him with its paws before driving it through the woods.

"Chief Knight Zero?the general raised a questionly brow.

That was when Gerald's eyes caught sight of his emblem,a shield spilt into two and painted black and gold on each half.

That was Cert's kingdom's emblem.

He would be less surprised if he didn't know a Chief Knight from Urah.

Gerald scratched his head and grinned.

"My bad...nevermind general..."

"Fushin...call me Fushin"The general smirked, letting out a hand for a handshake which Gerald took.

"Right.. General Fushin"Gerald smiled in return.

He turned In the direction of three savages before releasing a ball of flames on three of them.

"I would pleaded you keep a look out Incase he comes this way... unfortunately you know not who I speak of....where are the king's in this group?"

"Up ahead"the general pointed further west."The two of them".

Gerald looked around him at the cages, this group had captured countless of savages placed in cages guarded by two morphs.

He could tell by their black and silver armour.

Gerald swiftly dodged the claws of two savages aiming for him by ascending while the General vanished to appear on a tree.

He looked down at Gerald before turning his attention to more savages approaching him.

General Fushin stretched out a hand before his eyes glowed green and the ground below the savages turned into quick sand, preventing them from moving any further as it slowly swallowed them up.

"Unfortunately...I don't have...time...for this!"Gerald muttered as he cut off the hands of one of the two, seperating it from the rest of it's body.

The beast growled and this time Gerald reached out for it's head finishing it off with a downward plunge from above before finally decending.

The knight's eyes remained fixed on a savage going for General Fushin from behind who was busy dipping his sword in a savage's eyes while on air.

Gerald lifted the savage with his mind and swung it some distance away, letting it crash into a huge tree.

In that instant his eyes caught sight of a shiny metal flying in his direction at full speed.

It was too fast and he was distracted,he could stop it...no the sight of it made him freeze.

His mind was working on something else yet his eyes remained concentrated on it.

Gerald blinked and it was almost to his face,he couldnt think as well, just stared .

That was when he realized it was an arrow, flying at an incredible speed and aiming for his head.
