Chapter 56: Rouge et Noir (8)

Linda followed Damien's gaze to the statues that were placed on the first Layer. She had noticed them before, after her illusion broke, but it didn't really register in her mind. The statues resembled gargoyles, and from the way they looked, spotting a lot of detail and realism, Linda feared they would come alive if disturbed.

"That's the only way to free them. If we leave them be, they may kill each other before we complete the objective."

"Yes, I know that, there's no need to try an convince me, I didn't say I wouldn't help."

'Your eyes did.'

They both drank the last potions Damien had before heading to destroy the statues. Of course, there was no stairs leading to the statues, so they had to improvise and find a way up there themselves.
