Chapter 96: No effect

Kaoma watched silently the whole scene unraveling before her eyes.

Looking for any tell tale signs that she might need to to run like her life depended on it.

She watched Lord Sayid draw the remainder of his men into a huddle.

Lady Carlene gave her an affectionate pat as if to calm and reassure her, her eyes said not to worry and her demeanor put Lady Kaoma somewhat at ease.

Sayid and his men were so far away that neither of them could hear what they were saying but the fact that he was not shouting Kaoma took that as a positive sign.

It seems like both women were forgotten in the heat of the moment.

A wave of resentment crept into her heart that the old division between men and women in the Fairy Knoll was coming back to bite her in the ass.

Why do these men feel that only they alone were intelligent and women should be kept in the dark.
