"Have you already chosen what name to give your kid?", I asked Gloria who was currently standing in front of me.
"No. Jay wants Joe, but my mama wants Fulgencio. The problem is that my mother will be coming in a few minutes and Jay doesn't know", Gloria said helplessly. She was in a dilemma that she couldn't solve.
"I think you won't need to worry about it. You know Jay. He may be stubborn, but if it is an important decision like this he will know how to choose. Though you probably need to give him some help or his pride will interfere for quite a while", I tried to help Gloria.
"You are right Ethan. Thank you", Gloria thanked me.
"Ding-Dong", the doorbell suddenly rang.
"That must be my mother", Gloria said excitedly and ran towards the door.
She opened the door and I could see an older woman and ROSA?!
No, this isn't Rosa. I tried to think back about my memories of the series. It seems that this was the sister Gloria had. She made a few appearances, but I couldn't remember her face.
She also couldn't be Rosa. She looked a little different.
While I thought about that Gloria hugged the older woman and her sister.
"You two don't know each other yet. Mama and Sonia, this is a good friend of mine, Ethan. Ethan this is my Mama Pilar and my sister Sonia", Gloria introduced us to each other.
"Nice to meet you", I said extending my hand towards them.
They too both greeted me.
I was a little curious and asked them about a question that lingered in my mind since I saw Sonia for the first time.
"Sorry for the question. But do you have a relative called Rosa Diaz? She looks very similar to you Sonia", I asked them curiously.
"Oh. Do you know her? She is my niece and Sonia as well as Gloria's cousin. Her mother immigrated to America when I was young", Pillar said with a little excitement and surprise.
"We last visited her mother almost two decades ago", Pillar continued.
"That is nice to hear. Rosa is currently living in New York. She lives a very good life", I said to Pillar who seemed to want to know how Rosa was living.
I was still a little shocked that the two were truly related.
After that, we all talked about a few things together.
We were getting pretty loud. Suddenly a sleepy Jay went downstairs.
He talked a little with Pillar and then they began arguing. It was the same as what Gloria had said. Both wanted to have different names.
"Do you really believe that they will agree on something?", Gloria asked with a hint of concern in her voice seeing Pillar go upstairs and Jay following her.
She seemed worried that they would argue even more.
"I am sure", I nodded and told her my thought.
I was very sure that I analyzed Jay's character correctly.
Gloria heaved a little sigh of relief.
I smiled a little seeing that. It seems that Gloria trusts me.
"I need to go now. Haley is back at the Dunphy's house during her vacation and she said she needs my help with something"
"Till the baptization", I said to Gloria while walking out of the house.
After that, I drove towards the Dunphys curious as to what Haley wanted.
I opened the door. I had recently gotten a key from Claire.
I went upstairs towards Haley's room.
"What's the problem?", I asked her.
"I am lonely", she said plainly.
I just stared at her and was speechless.
"That was why I should come over?", I asked her wanting confirmation.
"Yeah. Are you mad?", Haley said while sulking a little.
"What if I am?", I countered.
"I don't know", Haley's brain couldn't think more and she just turned it off.
"Anyways. I will fulfill your wish. Now you shall not be lonely anymore", I said getting onto her bed.
She was currently watching a movie on her TV.
I laid down on the bed and watched some movies with her until it was time for church.
Fulgencio or Joe is getting baptized.
"Everyone ready?", Phil shouted from downstairs. We will be driving to church together.
Haley and I walked down. Everyone was already ready.
We went to the car and Claire drove us towards the church. She wasn't at home most of the time. She helped Gloria with some things for the afterparty.
Arriving at the church we all went out of the car and into the church.
The inside of the church was well-decorated. It looked beautiful.
We were one of the last people to arrive at the church.
We sat down on one bench behind Mitchell, Cam, and Lily.
"Hi Guys", I greeted the three of them.
"Oh. Hi, Ethan", Cam and Mitch greeted me back.
We waited for a while and soon saw the rest arrive.
The protagonists of today's day.
The Pritchetts and Ramirez.
Soon the church began.
Jay began by greeting everyone and telling some jokes.
But when it came to greeting Sonia he said something.
The result of the sentence was that Sonia and Gloria got into an argument.
The reason why the two argued? Gloria stole Sonia's opportunity and went to America instead.
After that, the Pritchetts and the Ramirez went into a backroom.
I didn't know what they talked about, but the atmosphere was still quite heated when they came back.
In the end, Jay chose the name Fulgencio Joseph Pritchett, but under the condition that they would still call him Joe at home.
Gloria agreed and everyone had a happy end.
The afterparty was quite boring though.
