You know my father?
Today was as usual. Everything was going on as normal, but suddenly my phone rang.
"Hey, Buddy. Can you come over to us? You know Haley has her da-ehm, you know what I mean. When girls bleed and- Anyway could you please come over to help her lighten up buddy", I knew right away Phil was on the phone. I exchanged numbers with him on our second meeting.
"Of course. I am coming right away.", I replied already going to the garage.
"Perfect Vitamin-E" Phil seemed delighted and hung up.
I soon arrived at the Dunphy's house. I rang the doorbell and Phil opened it.
"Hey buddy there you are. Did you take the subway? Is that so fast nowadays.", Phil said not knowing I drove here.
"Yes, Phil. Where is Haley?", I asked.
"She is upstairs Ethan.", Claire screamed from the kitchen knowing Phil would probably talk about some things like basketball with me again.
"Thanks Claire", I thanked her and quickly walked up the stairs.
"Hey Haley how is it going? Everything alright?", I walked in the door trying to comfort her.
I only heard a whoosh and a pillow was planted in my face.
I saw Haley's makeup being a little wet and washed away.
"Don't look. I am ugly", she screamed while smashing a pillow on her face to not let me see anything.
"No, you are beautiful with and without makeup", I tried to convince her as it was true.
"You are lying", she said still holding her head into the pillow.
"Well that will require a special attack", I said knowing I needed to use a special kind of combat.
I said while going up to her.
She just snorted and I started.
I tickled her everywhere till she couldn't stop laughing and put the pillow away.
After that, I kissed her.
"You are beautiful, alright? Nothing can change that.", I told her.
"Really?", she wasn't fully convinced yet.
"Really", the reply I got to that was a bite on my arm.
While she bit me I smiled. I knew she was soothed.
Suddenly the doorbell rang.
I didn't care and continued to soothe Haley.
"MOM, WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE? WHY DID YOU BRING HER HERE MITCHELL?", I heard a scary Claire screaming from downstairs.
"That is probably my grandma and my uncle. Let me introduce you to them.", Haley said with a smile.
We went downstairs after everything calmed down.
I saw an older blonde woman, who had some similarities with Claire sitting on the couch and a red-haired middle-aged man, who I knew was Mitchell.
We first went to the kitchen to her uncle, who in the meantime moved there to drink water.
"Oh, you must be Ethan. You really are as handsome as Haley said", Mitchell said with a smile.
"Yes, I am. And you must be Mitchell, right? I too heard about you from Haley", I and Haley talked with him a bit.
"Well I will introduce him to Nana now", Haley said with a smile.
"I wouldn't. That would anger Claire just mo- Oh, that was your plan", Mitchell said with a smile seeing through Hailey's plan easily.
We soon after walked to the living room where Claire and DeDe were.
"Hi, Nana. How are you?", Haley asked DeDe with a smile.
"I am fine Haley. As I see from this young charmeur you are also doing very good."
"You must be Haley's boyfriend, right? I can see it from your aura. You are a lovely couple and a very nice person", DeDe said.
"Yes, I am her boyfriend. My name is Ethan Mrs-"
"Just call me Nana like Haley, Ethan"
"Okay Nana", I replied with a smile. Luckily DeDe seemed to like me and she couldn't really tell a persons aura.
"Your boyfriend reminds me of the boyfriends your mom had over the years Haley",DeDe said with a smile.
"MOM", Claire said embarrassed and angry at the same time.
Haley smiled seemingly achieving her purpose.
I quickly led Haley out of the living room to not make the atmosphere more tense.
I wanted to go home, but suddenly DeDe called out.
"Ethan, stay here I want you to be a witness to how I apologize to Gloria in front of the family at the dinner in the evening"
"Yes Ethan please stay here", Claire also spoke out.
"No, I really need to go now. Really?", I said the last word more of a question as I was stared at by both of them.
"Okay. I will stay", I gave up. I was nervous, but the day where Claire knew I knew Jay would be coming sooner or later.
I stayed with Haley in her room for the rest of the time and we watched some movies.
Soon the doorbell rang. We were going downstairs and I saw Cam for the first time.
"You really didn't lie Mitchell. He looks good", Cam whispered to Mitchell.
I heard it, but chose to ignore it.
"You must be Cam right? I am Ethan", I introduced myself with a smile.
"Haley and Mitchell already told me about you. You both are such a cute couple. You could both maybe babysit our baby Lily when we arent at home", Cam said with a smile.
"No, not alone", Claire quickly came in between while sipping on a glass of wine.
It didn't take long and the doorbell rang again.
And in came Manny, Gloria and Jay.
"Ethan what are you doi- DeDE? What are you both doing here?", Jay asked
"Hola Ethan. Why are you here? DeDE WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?", Gloria asked in an angry voice after seeing Gloria.
"Dad, you know Et-", Claire wanted to ask something but was interrupted by her mother.
"What do you mean? What I am doing here? Mitchell told you I would be here", DeDe said confused.
The atmosphere was calmed down quickly due to DeDe wanting to apologize. Gloria wanted to accept it and moved near her.
DeDe said something, but I saw something was wrong with her. I walked near her.
Shortly after she attacked Gloria.
I quickly separated them both. Phil somewhat helped me by pinning Gloria down.
"Gracias Ethan", Gloria thanked me.
The atmosphere was tense, but the situation was quickly solved after everyone communicated together.
Then came another talk.
"So how do you know Ethan, dad?", Claire asked confused
"I should be asking this question, Claire. He is my neighbour", Jay said also confused
"Oh he is the neighbour with the cars", Claire realized.
"Yes", Jay confirmed.
"And how do you know Ethan?", Jay asked.
"He is Haleys boyfriend", Cam replied this time. Shortly after Mitchell poked him and he quickly realised his mistake. He shouldn't have said this without consent.
"Wow the world is really small, isn't it Ethan", Haley said ending this awkward atomsphere.
Afterwards there was dinner and everything calmed down and the atmosphere wasn't as awkward. I even got to talk to Manny, who had a mustache painted on.
