Nerissa's Decision

His discussion is interrupted by a knock at the door. "Malacai, may I come in?"

Malacai then tells Mara they will continue their conversation later. 

He then responds loudly, "Sure, Nerissa."

The door opens, revealing Nerissa in her pajamas. 

She's wearing pink velvet pants and a shirt. 

Her golden hair, damp and flowing, cascades over one shoulder to her chest. She closes and locks the door, then sits on the edge of the bed.

Her blue eyes, filled with determination, meet his. "Do you want to do it?"

Before coming to Malacai, Nerissa had pondered her decision. 

It was only a matter of time before Malacai took her virginity, and she preferred it to be on her own terms.

Malacai doesn't reply verbally; instead, he gestures for her to lay beside him.

As she draws near, Malacai pulls her in, guiding her head to rest on his chest.

Nerissa hears his heartbeat and feels the warmth of his body.
