Chapter 12: First Board Meeting
After the copa del Rey Final which Barca won 4-0 on 17/03/2021 at the Wanda metropolitano (stadium of Atletico Madrid), the board arranged an open training for the team at the Johan Cruyff Stadium (Barca B stadium) which was a fan/player meet and greet in conjunction with UNICEF, the Barca board used the same opportunity to host its first ever Board meeting of the new board as due to president Alex's engagements in the past with partners and players, the board meeting couldn't be held but he still had his assistant Mary arrange for the board meeting to be after the media meetup and the final of the copa del Rey.
Alex arrived at the clubs offices which was bustling with prominent individuals and staffs that keep the clubs affairs in check, Alex greeted almost everyone he Mets as he approaches the exclusive elevator of the president while under the view of the observant eyes of the receptionists, Both having fantasies of Alex falling for them as they know he's single and always dashing in his signature blue Business Suit, matched with designer black covers from Lui Vuitton.
Alex arrived at the board room with Mary and his advisers Mateo and Alonso from Klev and Vera International, as Alex entered the board room the board members and their staffs all silenced themselves from their conversations.
"Good morning ladies and gentlemen, I'm honored to be the president hosting you all to this strategic meeting that'll likely shape Fc Barcelona and help us keep our sporting and financial status as the best club in Spain and in world football. My names Alex Gonzalez Duarte, a son to humble parents (may their soul RIP), a friend, colleague, associate and partner to every one of you in this room" said Alex as he began his opening speech, "we're in a period of gradual transition and financial reinvigoration and I expect every one of you to act, think and align your passion, desire and commitment to helping Barcelona be where it's supposed to be.
Barcelona has been hurt by the way the recent board managed it's finances which I'm thankful Soriano came in and put a stop to some of the embezzlement before it became too deep, plus thank you to all of you here for the patience you've shown me in waiting for this meeting to hold before approaching me with any needs of your's though I know we'll have to act and act fast, hence why I came in with this folders which my assistant would share with you all and we'll go through it together".
As Alex kept quiet Mary started passing the folders in which Alex designed his own views for what the team has to do and where it needs to be in the next few years. Alex continued "if you'll open to page 3 you'll see I've outlined all the players I believe should be on the market, who don't have a place at Fc Barcelona today nor in its future,

Defenders- Mingueza,Firpo,Lenglet and Umtiti
Midfielders-Fernandez, Puig and Alena
Attack-Coutinho,Rafinha,Konrad,Trincao,Collado and Braithwaite.
All this players aren't in my envisioned list of next season and therefore would have to be shipped out for the betterment of the team, I'm handing the list to Marotta and his team plus Edwards to find new homes for them and advice the board on befitting replacements for every position, I've again promised myself that for every position we must have 2 qualified and qualitative players as our targets for next season are the treble".
On contract renewals matters I'll meet with agents of Messi, Pique, Alba and Roberto to srategize and start with the moves to save our finances, before June 30 we must sign the new contracts so that it falls into this years plans and we'll continue to listen to offers for Greizmann, Dembele and Dejong if any offer comes in above 120m for any of them we'll listen to it and start appropriate measures to address their replacements, Marotta has assured me he'll get strategic players from the Seria A to stop their contract renewal talks and start talking on signing them for low fees as they'll enter the final year of their contract.
Edwards has assured the board of his commitment in finding new homes for the players we don't want and please Ed "get as much money as possible from interested clubs, even if there's no interest in Europe, market them to Saudi clubs as they've got money to spend on European clubs".
Alex further tasked the youth sector to strengthen their pursuits of young players around the world even if it means signing partnership contracts with reputable academies around the globe.
