Chapter 25: Flip The Table

Thalia herself also looked surprised by what Shirley did, initially she wanted to confront Shirley without attracting the attention of many people.

And Thalia's movements also looked stiff when there were many eyes looking at them now.

We can see that Thalia's face looked confused now, she couldn't let others see her doing something bad, it would only damage her image.

Just as Thalia wanted to move to help Shirley who had fallen and got wine spilt on her dress, Noah hurriedly arrived beside her.

"What happened to you, Shirley!" Noah quickly took out his handkerchief to wipe up the remaining wine on her body.

Noah even took off his jacket and draped it over Shirley's shoulders. Then, he looked up at Thalia who still looked awkward in her place.

"Sister, why are you doing this to Shirley? I know you're not happy to see me close to Shirley, but you have no right to hurt her like this." Noah began to do his part to spoil the evening.

"N-not like that," Thalia replied with a step back, not knowing what to do now.

Thalia really didn't expect it to be like this, she wanted to escape from this horrible situation.

As Thalia continued to retreat, her steps were unintentionally halted as she felt her back bump into someone.

When Thalia turned her head to see who it was, she saw Victor there. Thalia's face turned even paler when she saw him behind her.

"Your Grace?" Thalia felt her body trembling in fear at this moment, she knew very well that Victor really hated people who liked to make a scene.

"What's going on here?" Victor came in with a furrowed brow.

Victor had come because he had heard the noise, but had no idea that Shirley was involved. Victor only realised it when he got closer and saw Shirley on the floor with Noah.

"I don't know what happened exactly, but from a distance I saw my sister intimidating Shirley and causing all this to her." Noah immediately spilled the beans so Victor and Thalia could start an argument.

Thalia looked worried when she heard Noah say, "How dare you! I didn't do any of that!" Thalia shouted at Noah.

Then, Thalia turned to Victor, "You know I wouldn't do this, Your Grace," Thalia continued, trying to make Victor believe her.

Shirley, who had been silent, chose to speak up now because she didn't want Victor to believe Thalia's words.

"I didn't expect Lady Thalia to be this angry when she saw me come to this banquet, I shouldn't have come in the first place." Shirley made her face look very miserable.

"Why are you saying that? I invited you here," Noah said, grasping both of Shirley's hands earnestly.

"What nonsense is this! I didn't do anything to you." Thalia's face grew even angrier at the sight of that disgusting act.

"Lady Shirley tells us what happened." Finally, Victor decided to listen to Shirley.

Shirley took this time to explain what had happened, not forgetting to make her face look sad.

The people who had been watching them were surprised, not expecting Thalia, who was known to be an innocent and gentle girl to intimidate Shirley like that.

Thalia realised that she could not act rashly at the moment because she was in a bad situation.

"I'm sure that I'm not very convincing right now, but Your Grace you know that Lady Shirley always has a trick up her sleeve." With teary eyes Thalia looked up at Victor.

Hearing Thalia's words, people also felt that it made sense because Shirley was known for making trouble.

Only this time Shirley regretted her barbaric behaviour that she had always done in the past, she could only grieve without wanting to say anything, she would leave the rest to Noah.

A sigh was heard from Victor, "Lord Noah, for now you had better take Lady Shirley away to get her clothes mended."

Victor decided to end the fuss as the party had to continue.

"Very well, then, Your Grace. I hope you will not provoke Shirley again," Noah replied as he helped Shirley up.

After that, the two of them left the hall to go to a nearby break room.

And so the party resumed, although by this time there were many eyes watching Thalia and starting to whisper faintly.

. . .

Meanwhile, Shirley was quite satisfied with what they were able to do this time, although the results were not as good as she had imagined.

The two of them were currently on one of the balconies that was reserved for guests to take a short break.

"How did you know Thalia would react like that?" Shirley, who was still wearing Noah's suit on her shoulder, asked curiously.

"I've lived with her my whole life, of course I knew." Noah said smugly.

"Well, at least the results are pretty good, I'm sure people are starting to question Thalia right now," Shirley retorted.

"It could have been better, but your reputation is amazing." Unconsciously the corners of Noah's lips lifted slightly as he recalled what had happened earlier.

Shirley was pleased to see that Noah seemed to be enjoying their time.

"Is this enough for you?" Shirley wasn't quite satisfied yet, she wanted this banquet to be rowdy, but she needed Noah's approval if she wanted to do that.

"For now it's enough, we just need to pay attention to them this time." Noah was satisfied enough today, they still had plenty of opportunities to do something else.

"Fine if you say so," Shirley replied as she shrugged her shoulders indifferently.

Noah rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly, "By the way, thanks for helping me out tonight," Noah said then.

"No problem, I should have helped you," Shirley replied with a warm smile.

"I'm sure you went through a lot of trouble to come here." Seeing how Shirley had come separately with Marchioness Estelle, Noah had already realised that something was up with Shirley.

"At least you know I had a hard time." Shirley rolled her eyes while chuckling sharply as she recalled her effort to come here.

They then chatted casually while enjoying the tea and snacks that were served to them.

Then, Noah remembered that Shirley had asked him about the mana stone a while ago.

"Oh yeah, did you get that mana stone you needed?" Noah thought about giving it to Shirley if she hadn't found it yet.

"Not yet-"

Just as Shirley was about to answer Noah's words, suddenly not far from the balcony they were on, there was a noise.

Shirley couldn't help but stop what she was saying and turned to Noah in confusion.

"We'd better see what's going on," Noah said when he saw Shirley staring at him.

Shirley nodded her head and followed Noah's lead as he stepped away to see what was happening.

Not far from Shirley's current position, from behind Noah's back he saw Charlotte calling Shirley's name crazily, she can tell that her little sister is drunk.
