Chapter 25: Saving Christine's life

Adam picked up the call.

"Hello? Adam? It's me Annie."

"Annie? I'm sorry but I don't quite remember." He said.

She sighed, "I'm the mother of Christine, Mr. Powers' child." She said the last part quietly, reluctantly.

"Oh yeah! I remember now." He smiled.

She rolled her eyes.

"How may I help you miss?" He asked politely.

"Well I- I wanted to... uhm.." She stuttered.

"I don't understand you miss."

She took a deep breath, 'I can't believe I'm doing this!" Her insides screamed.

"Hello? Miss?"

"Oh Hello. I just wanted Mr. Powers phone number." She twisted her lips.

"Uh... Why if I may ask." He arched his brow.

She thinned her lips trying to prevent her from saying something stupid. She took a deep breath again and continued.
