Chapter 47: Rules

Once Celeste arrived at her hometown safely, Alistair's steed screeched to a halt in front of the large fortress in which Celeste resided. He descended the horse and extended his hand for Celeste to take.

She slipped her hands in his and held her dress with the other free hand. He helped her dismount the horse.

Celeste only bowed her head slightly in appreciation for his kind gesture ever since she almost got attacked.

"I can find my way from here. Thanks" She muttered with a subtle smile.

Alistair nodded. He and Celeste stared at each other for a while. He noticed that her violet eyes darted from him to his horse. She definitely must be thinking about why he was yet to leave.

He understood what her gaze meant, but was never going to comply with it. When he veered around on his heels, pretending to leave, he noticed her waving her hands at him.
