CHAPTER 91 AZURE BERSERK MONKEY ll
'It seems that I have been overestimating myself.' Cleo thought to himself. At first, he manages to have an equal fight against his opponent; unfortunately, after the Azure Berserk Monkey used its natural ability [Berserk], the fight instantly becomes an impossible victory for him, but he does not stop fighting.
With the boost of his transformation, he is now equal to a peak Advanced Grade genetic creature in terms of physical attributes; in fact, it is highly possible that he has already surpassed this level and can be considered a pseudo-supernatural.
No matter how strong his body has become, the gap between him and a true supernatural-grade creature is just too wide; he is barely hanging on even with clearly superior burst speed.
ROAR! The Azure Berserk Monkey starts punching at a rapid pace as his body grows even bigger; he had used its supernatural ability. Cleo cursed loudly as he quickly realised that he had f*cked up.
BAM! Since the start of their battle, this is the first time that Cleo has received such a clean attack. He had blocked it, but the force of the attack was just too much for him.
He was blown away like a fly being smacked by a flyswatter; his tiny figure actually broke two thick trees before crushing into a third one; his body was broken to a horrifying degree; it is a miracle he has survived such an attack.
Receiving the order of the system, both Glutton and Leon stop on their tracks and quickly go to support their master; they ignore everything that tries to block their path.
Meanwhile, Cleo's uncle cursed himself inwardly. He quickly appears at the back of the Azure Berserk Monkey and attacks the back of its head. This attack was too sudden for the former, but relying on its superior instinct, it tries to move its head away from the danger.
ROAR! It roars loudly as a part of its head was actually pierced through by a powerful attack. This was a fatal injury for most beings, but not for supernatural-grade genetic creatures, as they are capable of regenerating nearly all physical harm. As long as their soul is strong enough, they can even survive after losing their physical form.
TCH! Cleo's uncle clicks his tongue after seeing his unsuccessful ambush. After seeing that Cleo was able to hold himself against a supernatural without getting injured fatally, he decided to use him as a diversion. He can then ambush the Azure Berserk Monkey, taking it out in just one attack. Unfortunately, he did not expect that their enemy would use its supernatural ability against someone clearly in Advanced Grade.
"I hope nephew Cleo will not blame me after this battle; hey, get the medic and carry my nephew back to the base; he had done enough!" Seeing that his target was assessing the situation, he decided to order the guards that Flare had assigned to Cleo.
Without hesitation, the guards abandoned their opponent and quickly retreated. Actually, not only them; the rest of the clean-up group is slowly retreating. They know that without the intervention of their abnormal fighter, Leon, they are at a disadvantage.
The guards quickly surround Cleo's broken body, but before they can move him, Glutton growls at them; even Leon seems to be radiating intense hostility towards them.
"Idiots! The young master's body right now is in precarious condition! Do not just move him!" Elcio arrives and admonishes the guards.
He then checks his body without physical contact; he heaves a sigh of relief seeing the situation, causing the guards to be startled.
"He is recovering; it seems that his current form has boosted his regeneration, but this is not enough; he needs energy to recover! Quick! Bring the corpses of the Blue Rage Monkeys here; we need to feed the young master after his body recovers, or at least until his pet gives the okay signal."
ROAR! Seeing one of their strangest enemies is now down, the Blue Rage Monkeys nearby start climbing down and charging at the fallen Cleo.
"Protect young master!" Roars Elcio, but before he can make a move, Glutton is faster, leaving Leon to protect their master. It receives a command from the system to protect Cleo's body at all costs.
Elcio turns back to Leon and nods his head, signalling to him that he will leave Cleo to him. He then joins the guards and Glutton in the battle against the furious Blue Rage Monkeys.
'F*ck! Where am I? ' Cleo asks himself, as he seems to be in a place filled with nothing but darkness. The last thing he remembers is being hit by the Azure Berserk Monkey attack.
'Is this the afterlife? ' He asks himself, but suddenly, a change occurs.
[This is not the afterlife; this is the temple of your soul. You are currently in a very dire state. The system's protocol activates and forcefully cuts off your connection to the body and takes total control.]
'I see, if that is the case, then I should rest here for now.' He thought, knowing that going back outside will give him nothing but pain, he should use this opportunity to meditate.
Unfortunately, this is not a valid option; the system has to use a large amount of energy to be in control, but if the host loses consciousness, your two pets, Cleo's Clone and Ravenous Scaled Wolf King, will be recalled, causing your physical form to be vulnerable.
'How much energy does the system need to waste to control my body? ' He hurriedly asks.
[Approximately a thousand times greater than what the host requires, as the system takes control of everything, including the heartbeat. As for the host, this trait is as natural as breathing.
'I understand; I want you to protect my brain as I am going to return! ' Bracing himself, the system instantly returns control of his body back to him.
'Sh*t! ' The pain immediately dawns on him; he wants to roll and scream, but considering that his body is broken all over, such action is impossible for the current him.
