CHAPTER 90 AZURE BERSERK MONKEY
In the camp, Flare and the main group are now patiently waiting for their time to shine; they have made predictions regarding the actions of their target.
Someone enters the room unceremoniously; it was the elite guard that Flare had assigned to Cleo. Upon seeing her, the mood inside the room becomes solemn.
Flare's expression becomes pale as she stands up, but before they can say anything, the elite guard reports hurriedly.
"There are some changes in our predictions; we had killed all the scouts, but the reinforcements managed to arrive much faster than expected; most of the Blue Rage Monkeys are now engaging our troop!"
She then shares some information regarding the current condition of the clean-up group. She is very proud of their achievement, even though she knows most of the reason why they managed to achieve this was Cleo.
"It seems that our target is not that slow in the uptake," says one of the members, combing his beard and acting like a sophisticated scholar.
"No, it is more likely that our enemy was warned by another group of creatures; the Azure Berserk Monkey King is a mutant of its species and considered to be nearing the so-called legendary realm," states one of the members; it is one of Cleo's aunts.
Everyone nods their heads; they are not inexperienced, and they know that there are multiple genetic creatures with intelligence that are not inferior to humans.
"This is not good for the alliance; we did not expect that the more intelligent genetic creatures would actually start working with each other and strategies; we need to inform the army about this." Flare instantly recognises the threat that this information possesses.
She cannot let the genetic creatures continue on this path. It seems that they are still wary of each other, but if this continues, it will be dangerous for the otherworld alliance.
Flare's elite guard can see that the main members are now worried about this new trait that the genetic creatures have gained, but it seems that they are also prepared to take action.
"You, since you are already here, inform the army about this information; I expect you to return immediately after you complete this task." Flare orders her guard as their main group advances towards a different path compared to the clean-up group.
As they move at an incredible speed, they easily reach the location of the battle, but they quickly realise something was wrong. One of the injured scouts sees them, and his eyes light up. One of his hands was ripped off of his body, and he is still bleeding as the first aid given to him is clearly insufficient.
Even with such a condition, he forces himself to run towards the main group. When one of Cleo's uncles comes to him, realising his condition, he frowns and asks.
"What happened to you? According to the information that we had just received, your group should have been in semi-optimal condition. From my memories, you might not be one of the battle-oriented elites, but you are still considered one of the elite forces, and your specialty should be escaping danger."
He turns to his missing hand and continues.
"You had just engaged the enemy; why are you already in his condition?"
The man forced himself to answer.
"Our information was wrong! The number of the elite Blue Rage Monkeys is clearly three times greater compared to the information! We are not only outnumbered, but we are also outclassed, and the most damning thing is that, an Azure Berserk Monkey leading the Blue Rage Monkey army!"
"What!?" Everyone in the main group was shocked by this information. Flare's expression changed.
She knows that with Cleo's presence and capability, he is definitely going to be the main target of the enemy.
"My little brother, what about my little brother!?"
"Young master Cleo is now engaging the Azure Berserk Monkey as we speak; please help him! He is the only reason why I managed to survive!"
"Flare! Lead the rest of the strike group and continue with our plan. I will stay here and deal with the Azure Berserk Monkey; hopefully I can manage to catch up." The man holding the injured servant immediately speaks.
Flare is worried about Cleo, but she knows just how important their mission is. She nods her head and quickly leads the main group to their designated route, leaving the messy battlefield.
"I know you are injured, but it is imperative that you lead me to where the Azure Berserk Monkey is!" He states solemnly.
The injured man shakes his head.
"I do not need to lead you; the battle is happening at the centre of the battle, and the commotion that they cause is greater than anyone else. Even in such a chaotic battle, they stuck up like a sore thumb."
Cleo's uncle was surprised, but still, he decided to follow what the man had said, as he knew that the subordinates of their family were fiercely loyal, or at least would not betray them without any great temptation.
When he finally sees the true scene of the fight, his eyes immediately narrow. The blood and corpses laid out on the battlefield are everywhere, and he hears a loud collision. Even in such a hectic atmosphere, this sound is clearly at a level on its own.
"So, there you are." With a rapid speed, he flies towards the location of the extremely loud commotion in the form of a manticore. His majestic appearance causes both humans and the Blue Rage Monkeys that had seen him to freeze.
ROAR! A giant monkey swings its large arm towards a tiny figure; the latter hurriedly dodges the attack, and the punch easily destroys one of the trees.
The tiny figure wipes the blood on his lip; he is suffering from internal injury; he had attacked the giant monkey more than a hundred times; meanwhile, he had only received five direct hits, yet their condition was vastly different.
