Director Zhang asked.

Xu Jing Li shook his head. "I have some matters to attend to. Please take care of her," he pleaded.

Director Zhang nodded but added, "I think you deserve to be here more. When will you get back?"

Xu Jing Li shook his head again. "The matter might take a long time to accomplish. Just ensure she is okay before you leave. I will call her mother, and she will be here in a couple of hours, so there's no need to worry."

Director Zhang frowned. He couldn't understand Xu Jing Li's behavior. Xu Jing Li had been the one to save Chen Mumu, yet he looked like someone running away—as if he didn't want her to know he had rescued her.

"What is it? Maybe I can help," Director Zhang offered.

Xu Jing Li shook his head. "You can't help. But can you do me a favor?"

"Of course," Director Zhang replied, nodding.

"When she wakes up, please tell her that I wasn't the one who saved her," Xu Jing Li said quietly.
