– Fictional World Simulation

[You're not going crazy host.]

'I think that's exactly what a figment of my collapsing mind would say,' Chris accused.

[You will realise soon enough that this is all real.]

Chris just stared at the box in silence.

[Since arguing is just going to be a waste of time I'm simply going move on and explain my functions instead.]

[Every day you will gain 10 simulation points. These points can be used to run the simulator, modify the circumstances of your starting point in the simulation and finally they can be used to take things out of the simulation to the real world. Always keep in mind, with enough simulation points you can do anything you want to with the simulation.]

[When you run the simulator you will get to select a world from three randomly selected fictional worlds. Then you get to select one starting perk from three randomly selected perks. Then you can use simulation points to make changes to your starting point if you so wish. Once your selections have been made the simulator will simulate a version of you with the memories you had before being transported here as if it had reincarnated into the selected world with your current abilities and the perks added.]

[Your simulated self will have to live out their life in the fictional world. When they die you will be rewarded an amount of simulation points based on their performance. You will then be able to select things to take out of the simulation by spending the points if you want to. Or you can keep them to spend on future simulations instead.]

'Well that's a lot. Isn't this a little bit too detailed for a delusion,' he wondered.

[Rather than argue about whether this is all a delusion why not actually give it a try and run the simulator for the first time?]

Chris looked around the hospital room. 'So say you are telling the truth. How long would this take?' he asked.

[It depends on the duration of your life in the simulator, but it should only be a few minutes at most unless your simulated self gains some form of extended life-span in the fictional world.]

'Wouldn't people notice if I was gone?' Chris responded.

[No it's a simulation. You aren't actually going anywhere. To everyone else it would just seem like you were in a very deep sleep for the duration of it.]

'You're not doing a great job of selling this not being a delusion,' he retorted.

[All it will take to convince you is trying it. You currently have 100 free simulation points that came with the system.]

'Whatever, just start the first simulation then,' he ordered.

The moment he did everything went black and he found himself in some kind of completely black void alone until the familiar system screen popped up in front of him.

[Since this is your first time running the simulator there will be a few privileges such as a one-time discount on the simulation points spent for this simulation.]

[Usually running the simulator would cost 50 points. For your first time running the simulator this fee has been waived.]

[Generating world options...]

He crossed his fingers that he would get some promising options.

[Options generated. Please make your selection.]

[Highschool of the Dead](Low)

[Kick-Ass](Minimal)

[Misfits](Medium)

"What are the things behind the names of the fictional worlds?" he asked.

[Those are the danger level of the world. They go as follows: Minimal, Low, Medium, High, Peak.]

[Minimal danger worlds generally mean a world with no supernatural aspect. No super powers, no supernatural threats, just a world quite similar to what you're used to. Kick-Ass falls into this category due to the vigilantes not actually having any special powers or abilities. If you stayed out of the way of the main storyline one could live an entirely normal life there unless you don't set the reincarnation point and end up reincarnating in an active war zone or something like that.]

[Low danger worlds are ones where abnormal elements start being present in the world, but even an average human can still survive in that world if they play their cards right. Highschool of the Dead falls into this category due to the zombie virus. It is dangerous, but since regular humans can still resist the zombies as long as they aren't heavily outnumbered there it doesn't exceed the low danger level.]

[Medium danger worlds are ones with significant supernatural elements that are beyond what a regular human could deal with. Misfits falls into this category since regular humans would be powerless in front of most of the supernatural ability holders in that world. Since the ceiling of power is elevated the danger level is raised.]

[High danger worlds are ones where supernatural elements are quite common whether the general population is aware of it or not and dangers are quite common putting regular humans at the whims of others. Commonly these worlds have extensive power systems leading to a larger difference between the strongest and weakest humans and/or races more powerful than the humans are present.]

[Peak danger worlds are worlds where the power ceiling is on the level of what would be considered gods. Think DC, Marvel, Highschool DxD, Percy Jackson, or most Xianxia worlds etc. There are beings in these worlds capable of extinguishing entire civilisations or worlds at a whim and unless you are one of those at the top you might not even know how or when you were exterminated based on the whims of such beings.]

'Well that clarifies things a little at least. Hmm,,, well... Highschool of the Dead has hot very chicks. It would be a horrible world though and what is there that I could bring back from a world like that? The zombie virus? No thanks.' he thought.

'Kick-Ass is even worse. A severe lack of hot chicks and just as little to bring back. Sure maybe I can bring back the money my simulated self earned, but though nice that was just about the least interesting thing I can imagine taking out of the simulation,' he thought while considering the second option.
