Meeting Mom
"I am not interested in being apart of Olympus. I prefer to remain a domainless god. I am very happy with my quiet life in the forest, and I would like to return to it." I said. I have no interest of being dragged back into this life. The forest is my home now, along with the quiet of my, I suppose self exile.
POV Artemis
I can't believe that he is disregarding Father, to his face. He is likely to be smited if this continues. He even rejected my claiming. I suppose he has a right not to want me in his life, it took a long time for me to want to be in his.
He has grown so strong, and skilled, better than most of the gods, bar the big 3. The last time I saw him in person was the day I left him, but I did check in of his life every decade or so. He is so much like me. Love only to the hunt, life devoid of people. He has been living in the forest for decades, and I have been watching him. He hunts what he needs to survive. He tends to his surrounding land, he hunts the monsters in the area. He would make a splendid hunter for my group.
I have been trying to work up the courage to confront him for years, as gods, the ancient laws don't apply to him. I want to get to know him, but I can see he no longer sees me as a mother, only the one who spawned him.
I have to speak to him alone!
"Father, may I speak to him alone" I requested, hoping to save Hunters life.
Zeus hummed in contemplation then nodded. When Hunter saw this he flashed away in silver moonlight, I knew where he was going, and followed in a similar flash.
POV Hunter
Mother asked to speak with me alone, so I flashed back home, entered my cabin, and prepared a meal for myself, ribs of a boar I hunted the day prior. For the last 20 minutes I could feel her lurking in the forest, so I made her some as well. I added a bot of ambrosia for added flavor to us gods. With a nice salad of greens on the side, I prepared two plated of ribs, with BBQ sauce on the side. I sat at the table and spoke "come and eat mother". I was a little nervous to meet her. I had stopped hoping to see her around 4 decades ago.
Across from me a beautiful woman appeared. Auburn long hair, tied in a ponytail, Silver eyes, dressed for a battle. She did not speak but just stared at me. I just continued eating my delicious food. She followed my lead, and began eating, beginning with the rigs that were cooked to perfection, she released a hum of satisfaction. We continued this until she broke the silence "why are you defying Zeus?" she asked. I looked at her as if saying 'After almost 70 years that is the first thing you say!'. "look around mother, I live a peaceful life in the forest, no gods, no quests, no summoning"
She looked at my cabin with a scrutinizing gaze. "Why are you here mother?" I decided to get to the point. "Zeus's bolt has been stolen, did you do it?"
