Chapter 23: Universal Program

(Bruce POV)

"Talk to me ALFRED. How is it?", I ask my AI who is taking a while to go over my calculations. I realised that I was beyond my computer. I just used it for convenience. Why would I not if I could?

[Calculation complete. Solution is inconclusive. More data required.]

"What are you talking about? You know as much as I do. We both have the same data. It seems pretty clear to me."

[Affirmative. Thought process of Bruce is unclear. Chance of success ... 35-99%]

"Wow, what is that? That's like saying you don't know. How did you come up with that number?"

[Success calculated from collected data, combined with calculations from existing universal laws. Then added the potential of creator Bruce which increases the potential success rate to 99%]

"Oh, you flatter me. But I feel like I might have made a mistake if you don't have enough data. Hmm. I thought it was clear..."

[Computer designate ALFRED, unable to utilise Universal Programming Code. Lack of understanding stems from there.]

"Huh? Well, what do you know? This should make me pause ... but it doesn't. I'll just try to make you better later on. Run the simulations another 1.e100 times and then tell me what you found out."

[Affirmative]

.

The 'Universal Programming Code' was ... my greatest creation and discovery. It was a piece of technology that bordered on reality manipulation. What was it exactly?

Well, that is a complicated question. Bruce was preparing for the ol' Switcheroo. What did that entail? Well, there were multiple things that this entailed. First things first was to create the 'Earth Coat', to cover the entire earth with an energy field. Why was this necessary? Because for the Earth to survive the process of travelling through Multiverses it needs to be protected.

How was this done?

My initial plan was to do this: I was going to cover the earth with an energy field, filter out any and all Dark Multiverse-energy, which is basically Crisis Energy, pin a suitable earth, connect the two earths via Inter-Multiversal-Wormhole and then have them switch locations.

That was my general plan, but I found out that this wouldn't work as I intended. There would be too many black flags. There was the fact that the earth I was on was for a fact Earth (- 69) and that wouldn't change even if I swapped earths. No, this would only bring more trouble. Because the Universe I would then be in would reject this new earth.

So what was I to do?

I had to change my plans. I thought about simply pulling a Rick and taking Wayne's mansion, Sebas and then just going to another Earth. But that was so ... boring. It was so easy and fast. Not my style. I kept the option open but went to look for another option. And after about a week of brainstorming, I had my new gem. At least theoretically.

I called it: the 'Universal Program'. I thought about reality and the Universe. I thought about how I could make the other Multiverse accept this earth as the original earth from its Multiverse. And I thought about programming. I could topple countries, empires and even planets just by programming 0 to 1's and vice versa. So why can't I do the same with the Universe?

I can do ANYTHING! F*ck I took the thought that I couldn't do this as an insult to myself and went ahead and did it.

What did I do?

I created a special computer, which ran on the forces of the Universe which allowed me to directly program these forces as if I was programming some code in a normal computer. That's right bitches, I created a Universal hacking tool!! How do you like that Fate? Your rules are now for me to control you piece of shit!

God I love myself.

.

What was I going to do now? Was I going to change the fundamental forces of the universe to make me immortal? Or remove evil from existence? Or was I going to make the Universe peaceful? ... F*ck no! I was going to use this god-like tool of limitless possibilities to simply change the (-) of this earth into a (+) and switch Multiverses.

How do you like that 'Situation'? Eat my fart.

.

.

(Author POV)

Let me clarify this for us a bit more. What Bruce essentially created was a Program which allowed him to hack the Anti-Crisis and Crisis Energy and essentially reality however he wished, as long as he understood how. This is absolutely broken and mind-blowing. This goes far beyond a level 12 intellect or level 20 technology. This is unprecedented and impossible and yet ... Bruce just did it ... IN . ONE . WEEK!

And what was he going to use this for? Just to prove his point. He only wanted to show the middle finger to the impossibility of his situation. The impossible fact that you couldn't switch two Earths, from the Dark Multiverse and the normal Multiverse, was now shown the middle finger by Bruce. That's all he wanted. To prove that he could do ANYTHING. And he could.

.

So the process began for Earth (- 69). Bruce started the 'Earth Coat' and covered the entire earth in a layer of energy to protect it from the chaotic forces that it would experience.

[Picture]

How did he have enough energy to do that? Well over the years he had created more Nuclear Circles and improved their design. So he had more than enough energy to power this. After that, he used the Universal Locator, a useful tool, he created over dinner. He located the Earth in the normal Multiverse he had scouted before this.

What was he looking for on this Earth? Well, he was looking for an earth that was either uninhabited, due to missing evolution or a destroyed earth that had been doomed. First Bruce wanted to choose Earth 2.

This universe's version of Earth was chosen by the courtiers of Apokolips to be rendered down to sustain their world, which had begun to die after five years without its master Darkseid. The planet was struck with everything they could muster, and in the end, they were successful, but not before the Wonders could construct a fleet of twelve-generation ships and take to space, hoping to find a new home.

Due to a convergence of fortune, the fleet found a planet, the physical twin of Earth, and with a different but compatible ecosystem, in a binary system of a yellow star & a red star. Circumstances caused the fleet to crash, but they proceeded to build colonies in their new world.

Bruce didn't choose this Universe since there were still some humans who remembered the old version of Earth. That would only lead to conflict.

.

Another idea was Earth 3.

Said to be the birthplace of evil; rather than "right" and "wrong", the ruthless nations of Earth 3 cared only for strength above all, the weak deserving only annihilation. The sadistic, unstoppable Crime Syndicate thus ruled this hopelessly corrupted world, twisted counterparts to the Justice League.

In Earth 3 performing crimes is as mundane as Prime Earth is fighting crime. And although there are laws and police, these usually only serve their own interests. Like other Earths of the Multiverse, Earth 3 features a gallery of superhumans, but these are selfish and ambitious beings, like anyone in the universe.

Now this wasn't a bad idea. In truth, Earth 3 would be destroyed by the Anti-Monitor and would be one of the Earths that was the centre of attention when Perpetua and the different Batman's of the dark multiverse came over. So that wasn't something he was interested in. Especially now that he was trying to leave this dark Multiverse behind.

.

So Bruce settled on an Earth where evolution hadn't done its job yet and where no humans existed. That seemed like the safest bet. Not because Bruce was afraid of trouble. No, he was afraid of work, that's what he was afraid of.

Jokes aside, he would rather take it easy.

But there was another reason why he chose that specific Earth. A very important reason. What was that reason?

.

To answer that we must first discuss the Anti-Crisis- and Crisis Energy as well as some of the history of the Multiverses. The Seven Forces of the Universe were created aeons ago by The Presence, of The Source, the "source" of creativity and creation that fuels all things in existence, and gathers around two opposing poles:

- the Anti-Crisis Energy -- Energy in nature connective that links all lives as one history,

- and Crisis Energy -- Energy of the self that beckons to undo the past in favour of the immediate moment.

The Source birthed a race of super-celestial beings called The Hands to whom it gifted the Anti-Crisis Energy which they would use to create new Multiversal Systems within the Omniverse.

.

- Some History for context -

Twenty billion years ago, the supercelestial Perpetua, who was one of these Hands reached the Overvoid to create the Multiverse in the Sixth Dimension, which stands at the very top of the Multiversal scale using Crisis Energy to shape three different realms which she assigned to one of her newly born children:

- A realm of dark matter that would shape all the creation which she assigned to Alpheus (The World Forger);

- An infinite orrery of realities that would have been monitored by Mar Novu (The Monitor);

- An antimatter universe, which would have been ruled by Mobius (The Anti-Monitor), that would divide her multiverse from the Overvoid as well as the rest of the Omniverse.

However, despite having fulfilled her role of the creator as Mar Novu pointed to her, Perpetua chose to not leave the multiverse, retiring herself to enact her master plan. In fact, Perpetua began experimenting on various species in order to create a race of Apex Predators whom she would eventually use to invade other multiverses and claim them for herself.

However, her sons alerted her superiors, the Judges of the Source, to her actions and she was imprisoned in the Source Wall along with her army and the totality of the power she had selfishly hoarded.

The multiverse was then re-created with the Anti-Crisis Energy. For ages, after the first Multiversal Reset, the multiverse thrived in harmony with the Seven Harmonious Forces as the underlying energies that governed it.

.

Connective in nature, the Anti-Crisis Energy, also known as the Connective Energy or the Seven Harmonious Forces, connects everyone to their past and history, reminding them that they are all part of one generational story.

It gathers all the positive and harmonious forces of the Multiverse, each energy governing the material reality and are essential to the proper functioning of the Multiverse with all its elements working in harmony with each other, imbuing it with concepts like feelings, magic, motions, etc.

Although they are not part of the Seven Harmonious Forces, the Life Equation and Order Magic are also considered to be Anti-Crisis Energy forces.

.

Why is this important to know? Because Bruce wants to know these things and use them to prepare. All of this is pure knowledge that he will use to his advantage. Because knowledge is power. Upon coming up with a solution to swap out two earths in different Multiverses, Bruce stumbled upon this thought. He knew about the fundamental forces of the DC Universes but using them respectively to achieve something would take too long.

So he directly skipped these forces and went to the higher form of energy. Anti-Crisis Energy. Why was he interested in Anti-Crisis Energy? Because Crisis and Anti-Crisis Energies are malleable energies that can be fashioned into a new and complex life system.

They can remake a created Multiverse like Wonder Woman, Perpetua, and the Darkest Knight attempted to do with Crisis Energy:

- Perpetua attempted to remake the Multiverse into a predatory and everlasting reality where evil is the natural order of things.

- The Darkest Knight attempted to remake the Multiverse with his "Last 52″ into a nightmarish and twisted reality.

- Wonder Woman and the Justice League attempted to remake the Multiverse into its initial configuration of infinite universes before the Crisis on Infinite Earths.

.

But from where does this energy come from?

Crisis Energy or Anti-Crisis Energy can be drawn from these so-called life systems depending on the multiversal psychic balance between "Justice" and "Doom" held by their people.

If the psychic balance leans towards Justice, it would generate Anti-Crisis Energy. If the psychic balance leans towards Doom, it would generate Crisis Energy.

This is important to know and before researching this, Bruce had no idea about that. He checked the energy type in his Universe and found out that the scale seemed to tip more on the side of Crisis Energy. The only reason that it wasn't completely on the side of "Doom" ... was because of him.

Bruce was the linchpin that began to tip the scale from "Doom", to "Justice", with his presence and actions alone. And that ... was INSANE. It was also the reason why he wanted to leave this Dark Multiverse. If the balance tipped from Doom to Justice, he would have Perpetua or Barbatos at his doorsteps and that wouldn't be something he had the patience to deal with.

.

So coming back to the original question. Why had Bruce chosen that specific Earth?

Because there was a very special balance between the psychic of "Justice" and "Doom". No humans ever existed, so there was neither Anti-Crisis- nor Crisis Energy. And that was something that Bruce would use to steer the course of his Universe later on.

When he reprograms the Crisis Energy that permeates his Earth into Anti-Crisis Energy, he would then transfer that Crisis Energy onto the other Earth and then take its place. Why was Anti-Crisis Energy a key factor?

Because Anti-Crisis Energy is known as "Connective Energy." It connects everyone to their past and history and welcomes future generations. So he will use the 'Universal Programmer' to transfer all of the Crisis Energy to the other Earth, use it as a sieve and take only the Anti-Crisis Energy.

Using that he can then make it so that his Earth, which is Earth (-69) will become positive. Earth (-69) will become Earth 69. And the Multiverse will see it as if that was always the correct earth, solving all problems.
