Chapter 44: CHAPTER FORTY-FOUR

We hear the sounds of footsteps as people approach the maze garden from a distance.

"Hendrix..." I place my middle finger on my lips, urging him to keep mute.

"What's it, darling? Do..."

"Shhh" I cut him off, whispering and making hand gestures, hopefully, he gets to understand.

At first, he rolls his eyes at me, confused, but when the sound of the footsteps becomes clearer, he gasps.

"We need to hurry." He's half yelling as he stands up in haste, and beckons on me to do the same.

Crap! Are they done already? Not wasting as little as a second, Hendrix and I rush to our feet as he scouts for his pants and accessories. In times like this, I'm glad I need not worry about searching for a pair of lingerie.

I pull my dress over my shoulder and allow the bulk of it to cover my lower body. My hair is a mess, it wouldn't make any sense trying to pack it into the bun it was initially.
