I mean, I couldn't be the only one thinking that was an asinine idea, right?
"It's not a bad idea," I said after a long pause when no one else spoke. "But I don't think that this is the right time. Let's get the city set up for human habitation first. I am sure that there are going to be a lot of things that we need to tackle before we can take on more people."
There, that made sense, right?
"She does have a point," interjected Lai Dan Dan as she looked up at Chang Guo Zi. "At the very least, we can trust the people here to all be on the same page as us. That might not be the case with outsiders. I don't want to wake up one morning and have all of our supplies stolen simply because we rescued someone we shouldn't have. No one wants another Wu Bai Hee."
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Zhao Jun Jie flinch at that statement. But Lai Dan Dan wasn't wrong.
Dear Readers...
Before the lynch mob comes for me, please know that this isn't a political thing or a commentary on anything in the real world.
I have been raking my brain for a few days on what an isolated city needs to survive on its own, and I went back to the ancient times.
Besides, there is not way to print or produce money right now, so a monitary system wouldn't work. If you can come up with a different idea, let me know!
