Chapter 316: I'm not favoring my kitten, I'm loving all my boys

The sky outside the window was gray. The rain continued to drum against the glass.

She stretched in bed.

Isabelle slid one leg out from beneath the blankets.

Her eyes opened slowly to stare blankly at the ceiling.

Light came in through the curtains covering the windows, but it was dimmer than normal, more muted.

"Rain?"

Octavian sat near to her, reading something.

"Mmh. It hasn't let up." He confirmed dryly. "Bothersome weather. But if it's not cleared up by tomorrow it should be fine, as long as it's only this bad. So, not so bad I suppose..."

She blinked owlishly at him, slowly becoming aware of her surroundings and remembering how she'd ended up there. "Where is everyone else?" She asked curiously, glancing around.

Octavian pointed lazily, eyes still glued to his book.

A figure was curled up on a sofa by the window reading a book, covered in a blanket, though he glanced up as she shifted her weight to look.
