Snowball was still quite anxious over the two days or so that she'd vanished on him, and so even during her shifts in the infirmary he got all antsy whenever she reappeared.

Today was no different, as he sprinted over to her, 'talking' animatedly, eyes wide and staring up at her.

She smiled gently as she knelt down and scooped him up.

"I'm here, sweetie. Hello." She kissed his nose. "Come. Do you wanna see Daddy Alexander?"

He wiggled in her arms excitedly, eyes darting to the door behind her and back to her face. He didn't struggle out of her arms, but the vibrating eagerness coming from his little body was impossible to miss.

He chewed at her sleeve briefly, tugging gently with his sharp little teeth.

She smiled and kissed the top of his head, before carrying him out of the room and starting on toward the infirmary again.
