Chapter 227: I'm not bad with time, I'm missing some things

Isabelle stood stunned, blinking owlishly as the strange elf wandered off, disappearing into the depths of the castle without another word.

He had disappeared into the crowd like some kind of ghost.

"Wh-wh-what was that?" She sputtered, bewildered beyond belief.

Nobody seemed to have an answer for her.

Or, perhaps more accurate, they all ignored their eccentric empress shouting to herself in the hallway.

Isabelle tried desperately to come up with something coherent to say, but all she managed was to flap her mouth open and closed helplessly.

Finally, she regained her ability to form actual words and snapped angrily, "He walked away!"

Nobody acknowledged her outburst.

A servant hurried by, pushing a cart piled high with linen, barely sparing a glance for his empress as he rushed past her.

She glowered at him petulantly.
