Chapter 172: I'm not a dog whisperer, I'm just good at giving pets

Isabelle raised a hand and tucked it behind Octavian's neck, tugging him back down toward her.

They were so close she could feel his breath ghost across her face. It warmed her skin pleasantly and sent tiny sparks through her nerves. Her eyelids fluttered closed as she pressed her lips to his hungrily.

He seemed taken aback, but recovered quickly as their mouths molded together in a heated exchange. His hand tangled itself in her hair as he pulled her close to him.

Her entire body trembled slightly at the sensation of his lips upon hers, making her knees feel weak and her mind foggy. Her fingers ran along the base of his scalp, trailing through his silvery-white hair as she kissed him.

Hugin, trotting back to his humans, barked at them.

Startled, Octavian jerked away from her slightly, before chuckling at his dog.

Isabelle laughed helplessly.
