Chapter 123: I'm not rushing, I'm trying my best

"Where is my Snowball~?" Isabelle cooed.

A faint mew answered her from somewhere across the room. She scanned the room, and she spotted him near one of the foot of the bed, peeking from around the corner.

She hadn't seen Alex when she went out with Tenshi to have breakfast with the Count, so it was her assumption that Snowball and Alex simply came back to the room after she left and she'd missed them.

An assumption that seemed to be true.

"Baby..." she cooed to her kitten, extending a hand toward him, palm up, as if coaxing a shy toddler.

She gave him a teasing pout. "Were you hiding from your momma~?"

The tiny feline froze when he spotted her, and then scurried toward her. His little kitty legs pumped furiously as he raced across the room toward his beloved mistress.

He stopped beside her feet and started grooming himself nonchalantly.
