Ruth Dawn's words ignited a fury in William Cole's heart.
Right now he was anxious, worrying about Minnie Wright's safety, and yet Ruth continued to put him under move pressure.
William felt suffocated, restlessly dialing Minnie's number.
"Hello, the number you have dialed is switched off."
"Hello, the number you are dialing..."
William dialed repeatedly, three or four times, all to find the phone switched off.
"Ruth, I'm sorry, but I need to go check on her," William shook his head, starting the car.
A wave of anger welled up in Ruth's heart: "William, if you go now, don't ever come to see me again."
"Is that woman really that important?"
Seeing William silent, Ruth yelled again: "She is more important than me and our child?"
William exploded, his eyes red as he roared: "Are you out of your mind?"
"Throughout our marriage, I've never spoken harshly to you."
"Whatever you wanted to do, I let you."
