Chapter 22: Doing Their Own Things

The Rat lunged at him with great ferocity and speed that made Barry widen his eyes.

Fortunately, Barry's reflexes, supported by the desire to survive, made his mind move by itself.

With Gravity Manipulation still active he kicked the ground then shot upwards. The Giant Sewer Rat clawed at the place where he had been standing and planted his claws in the ground.

'Shit! I can't let my guard down anymore!' Barry almost lost his life because of his mental wandering for several minutes towards Elaine.

For now, he chooses to entrust the other Giant Sewer Rat to Elaine in the hope that she can kill it. Or at the very least hold on until he can help.

"SKREEEE!!!"

The Giant Sewer Rat screeching, jumping and scratching Barry fiercely. Its eyes were red as if they were filled with blood. Its body was covered in wounds making its already bad appearance even more terrifying.

Barry regained his composure. For if he can't do that as fast as possible, he could die.

As soon as he regained his composure, Barry immediately manipulated gravity again, making gravity pull him downwards in the right moment.

This time he didn't use Enhanced Strength because he was worried he would run out of Magic Power if he used too many skills.

*TWHACK!*

Barry lands a kick on the Rat's eyes, and it unleashes another screech.

Then with the force of the kick he launched himself to the side.

His eyes caught something in the distance. Something he can use to increase his advantage on this fight.

On the other side, Elaine is also fighting for her life. She is really grateful to Barry because he let her have the Quick Step skill, which can make her run ahead of the Giant Sewer Rat.

If she didn't have that skill, Elaine is sure she would have died torn apart by those huge teeth and claws.

*BLAARRR!*

Elaine fires her lightning bolt while she runs. She has landed many attacks on the Giant Sewer Rat, but the monster still can't keep up with her. In her current situation, Elaine was clearly at an advantage.

However, she soon remembered that she couldn't keep doing this. Barry collapses suddenly when his Magic Power runs out. She can't let that happen to her.

And from the start Barry has saved her a lot. Elaine realizes she can't continue to rely on Barry. She must learn to use her abilities to survive on her own.

Barry is now also fighting for his own life. It would be good for Elaine if she could now save him instead.

"SKREEEE!!!"

Another lightning bolt landed on the Giant Sewer Rat's head. It let out a painful scream. Some parts of its head fell on the ground behind its body but the monster let it be because the one it was now targeting was Elaine.

'Why isn't it dead yet!'

Elaine gritted her teeth. She didn't know how much longer her Magic Power would last, especially since she activated her Quick Step continuously without stopping.

'I have to find a way to kill it as quickly as possible before I run out of Magic Power!'

Then, after a few minutes of running around her spacious house, Elaine arrived at her swimming pool.

An idea pops into her mind.

'I can do that.'

She ran with all her might. Elaine begins to feel the effects of her depleted Magic Power. She must move quickly!

A moment later she finally arrived at her large pool. There is a part of someone's torso floating in the pool. Luckily he knew who it was because there was still a butler uniform on his body.

Elaine stopped and turned her body. She gritted her teeth when she saw the Giant Sewer Rat pouncing at her on all four with incredible speed.

'Not yet.'

She waited. And then, when she felt the timing was right, Elaine jumped to the side.

The Giant Sewer Rat jumped up to pounce on her but instead it fell into the pool when Elaine dodged. A large splashing sound was created when the giant Rat's body landed in the water.

Elaine concentrated, with her will she spent a large amount of Magic Power.

Her hands were covered in crackles of lightning that were getting bigger every second. She directed her hands to the pool.

The Giant Sewer Rat struggling to get out of the water. It didn't take long because the part of the pool you entered wasn't too deep.

But Elaine was faster with her charging. She shoots lightning into the pool.

A huge and powerful strike of lightning accompanied by a thunderous sound was created as if it was splitting the earth.

*BOOM!*

*BLAAARRR!*

Lightning flows the water in the pool. Surrounding the Giant Sewer Rat in a lightning prison that scorched its entire body in an instant.

Barry was shocked when he heard the sound of thunder booming. When he turned around he saw light rising into the sky from another part of the mansion.

Barry is sure that the lightning came from Elaine. He knows that Elaine can generate a huge amount of lightning with her Magic Power. However. she must have used her Magic Power to activate Quick Step. Is that enough to generate enough lightning to kill the Giant Sewer Rat?

He hopes it's enough.

The Giant Sewer Rat that he had to fight was now in front of him.

Barry quickened his pace. A moment later he was already in front of a large pile of polished iron, apparently about to be used to build something.

Barry touched the five poles 5 meters long and applied his Gravity Manipulation to them. The five poles floated into the air.

The knowledge comes to Barry just like that, as if he had it from a long time ago. He suddenly knows how he can use his Gravity Manipulation.

Barry then brought the polished 5 iron to hover above the Giant Sewer Rat.

The Giant Sewer Rat stopped and looked at Barry who was above with a dumbfounded expression. He couldn't react when Barry suddenly dropped the polished 5 iron on it.

*CRAAATTT!*

The Giant Sewer Rat couldn't react when the 5 iron polish impaled its body. Barry didn't stop there even though he saw that the Giant Sewer Rat's body was almost destroyed and it could no longer move.

Barry pulled the iron poles, and then plunged it again into the Giant Sewer Rat's body. He did it several more times until he got a notification that the Giant Sewer Rat was dead.
