Rafiq stood, a half full glass of champagne held in his hand, conversing with his long-time friends and business partners. Two men he’d shared some of the best and notorious times in his life as a youth while at university. Surprise failed to cover how he felt upon discovering that they could attend the ball, mainly because they hadn’t communicated with each other in a while.

“I cannot tell you how glad I am to see you.” Rafiq clapped Richard on the shoulder and drained the rest of his sparkling drink.
