Howl clutched the egg securely in his arms, "I won't let that happen again." he answered firmly, like a dutiful male.

Howl frowned, "Don't glare. It's your fault that I slipped. Your spit made it slick," he responded shamelessly in a monotonous voice with a tone reprimanding Zethus for covering such a pretty egg with slimy saliva. 

Zethus' scalp felt burning from hearing Howl's audacity and nonsense. 

'Just what is wrong with this bird?!' he felt frustrated, seeing as Howl was perfectly serious as if he was just stating a fact— a damnable fact.

Zethus didn't know if being angry with someone like that was worthwhile. 'Did he really clog his brain, breathing in all the dust in the air? Or is he just a problematic beastman with no common sense?' he wondered and felt that both were plausible.

Right this very moment, he had the urge to spit cold poison and ruin Howl's serious dumb face!
