What now?
I don't have any goals at the moment.
It's not like I hate Danzo enough to seek vengeance either…
'But if I had enough strength, I would go after him. Currently, I'm simply too hopeless… Well, goals are meant to be achieved, right?'
I smirked. Scratch what I said earlier, it seems like I have myself a goal to work on now.
'The first step is figuring out how to kill Danzo. Waltzing is an obvious no… but it would be funny.'
I knew a little about Danzo, and I know that he likes to take in new "seeds" for his organization.
'But I also know that Root has a cursed seal that forces complete loyalty in each agent. Though I heard that some of the favored Root members have lighter restrictions placed on their seals, and I even know some former Root ninjas that are currently working as Anbu without Danzo's control.'
Nevertheless, the option of becoming a Root ninja is out, though definitely thrilling.
'Maybe if I can learn and master fuinjutsu quick enough, but I… am only ordinary. A nearly disabled ordinary ninja,' I grinned, making a horrifying face.
After surviving that explosive experience, I gained some benefits and also lost some.
Firstly, I observed that my chakra reserve had greatly increased. Now, I had enough chakra to rival a…
'An elite chunin level chakra, not bad.'
It still doesn't match my rank of special jonin, but it's better than not even having an average chunin's worth of chakra.
Secondly, my remaining senses gained a "boost," if you can call it that.
'Sadly, I lost my sense of taste and barely have any sense of touch.'
My vision is better. I can't necessarily see clearer or farther, but my attention to detail is a league above my previous one.
My sense of hearing is clearer, and my sense of smell is a little bit better as well.
'Not what you'd call a great improvement, but every drop of upgrade is good for me. I can't be picky either.'
Sadly, my physical strength was reduced even further, and my stamina… We don't talk about that.
'My only option left is genjutsu. I can't find a teacher, and I can't rely on a teacher either. Thankfully, I have Konoha's basic three academy techniques, so I can use that as a reference.'
After a while, I stood up, using my empty saya as some sort of cane.
"Well, another day, another hardship. Let's go kill Danzo… on another day, heh."
Life is interesting in a way. I was once an Anbu, then I became a rogue ninja and was promptly "killed."
Now, I was on a journey to kill my killers, who happen to be a branch of Konoha's Anbu, the Root.
